So basically, I really want to get tumblr but my parents won't let me. They say 'too much bullying goes on there', but I know not to mix with the wrong crowds.

Should I just join without permission, or not?

I have some points:

For: I would have fun getting used to it, and using it in general. Good chance I wouldn't get caught.

Against: If I did get caught I'm 90% sure my parents would ban me from it. I could get banned from the computer for a short while altogether for being sly.

But if this was you in this situation, what would you do.

P.S, what do you think sounds better: MilkyMomo or MirukuMomo?

I joined Facebook without permission a long time ago, and to this day my parents still don't know :p (I'm allowed to use it now, but I was told that I could make an account, even though I already had one xD )

Dayum Oath, you just got to go crush my dreams Dx

Hmmmm... my parents are pretty clueless....

don't. tumblr isn't even good imo, you should get a blogger or something and blog about ac there, if your parents allow it. but they are not lying, tumblr is no where near a ''good'' website. i should know, considering how many people got bullied by that anon. tbh i think its the same anon bullying every person. they have the same bad insults and all. tsk tsk and the homophobia that goes on there

TL;DR
don't. join it when you are older, younger ones can get sensitive to the bullying [not saying you're young since i don't even know how old you are but w/e just join it in another few years]

I agree with oath, don't it's not worth it. Of you're old enough for your parents to tell you what you can and cannot do then you're not old enough for tumblr

lol don't let people do anon asks i like milkymomo

haha I joined and told my parents but they didn't really mind and I showed them it was an ac blog so they didn't think anything bad was going on lol o:

Milkymomo is awesome <3

My parents would probably get quite mad, though. They already told me no, so I shouldn't really deceive them.... but I'm naughty so I'm still debating.

think about it ; have a tumblr for a few weeks/days or be banned from your computer for a few months? it's your decision, but they most likely will find out

Hmmm...

That's a good point.

But do you think the fact I've been doing great grade-wise would make them less angry?

I might talk to my Mum about it now, to see if I can get her to reconsider. If not, then I'll be stuck with blogger.

blogger is pretty cool, if you blog regularly. i had a korean food blog 1 or 2 years ago on there and i loved blogging on it owo

My parents, specially my dad, don't allow me to register to places where I can reveal too much personal information in one way or another, even if a lot of that info is not visible to everyone and just staff. I managed to convince them to let me join a few places (TBT is one of them ^^; ).

I wanted to make a Tumblr and my dad said no. Personally the last thing I want to do is to disappoint him so I haven't made one, but I am free to look at Tumblr blogs and everything, for as long as I don't make an account myself. So I guess it depends if you want to actually post things on Tumblr or just look at it. There are lots of blogs I follow without having an account.

If you just want to blog and the platform doesn't really matter, you can always use Blogger or Wordpress (I haven't used either, but I'm told Wordpress is better). Actually my dad offered me to buy me my own .com thing if I really wanted to get into blogging, and it would be using Wordpress, but I think you can have a Wordpress blog without your .com thing (irrelevant - I didn't accept that offer yet because I'm just nervous having leannesomething.com on the internet for everyone to see x.x)

tumblr isn't worth getting in trouble for, imo. (not sure how old you are)

As an older person with tumblr experience, I would say tumblr is definitely not a good place for young people. Or as I've come to feel, tumblr is not a good place for anyone, lol.

Honestly, I feel like tumblr is a pretty poisonous place. And all the drama and nonsense is almost impossible to avoid. I would agree with your parents, tbqh. But I know that sometimes people can tell you no and give you tons of good reasons, but you still want to/need to experience it for yourself.

Have you tried the BlogTree here on TBT? It's a perfect alternative!
Getting your parents upset is not worth it, and it is really mean to disrespect them like this. Don't get a Tumblr until you are allowed to, or don't bother getting one at all. It's not really worth it anyway. :)

Ooh, that sounds interesting o:
I have had like a gazillion blogs on there but they had no comments since it was kind of like a desert with tumbleweeds passing by.
On tumblr, they have tumblrweeds *badoomtiss*

I asked my Mum and she said I can, she just needs to talk to my Dad about it first.

But do you think the fact I've been doing great grade-wise would make them less angry?

Maybe, cause then if your grades start slipping, it would be noticeable. They'll know they were right in warning you about Tumblr, and you shouldn't have been on it. :)

since your mother said yes theres a good chance your father might too.

it all depends on who you follow
