Mafia TBT Mafia X: The Honnō-ji Incident [Game Over/Town Win]

I think I should be promoted to Mayor. Why? I am a Townie. Well why should I be promoted if I'm a Townie? I won't be a huge target for mafia. Well then why should we protect you Purpl? That's two Townies that mafia will waste shots on. PLUS, mafia will try and kill Townies(to find the bodyguard) as well as blue roles, eliminating the amount of blue roles shot. Then, later on in the game, (during the hunt for the godfather) there will be less Townies. So if the godfather refers back to the Townie role, it will be easier to find him or her.

All these mayor candidates are very interesting. I'd be against voting a strong player for Mayor though. It may sound stupid but just too big of a risk. Strong players = better at hiding as scum, and all the weak/newer players are going to be easily manipulated by them especially when it comes to the last few days. And I don't like any of these plans either. I think we can agree on no mass role claiming at all! It just messes everything up. Even if there's no unique names, what are you going to do with all the double claims? It's literally useless and it's going to confuse everyone. Instead I'd prefer something similar to what town did in Bio mafia. I was mafia in that game and I literally only knew Tina's role.

I'm assuming the Mayor can't be recruited, but can the bodyguard be?

Mayor can't be recruited but, yes, bodyguard can be.

Medic protections work against both mafia and cult. However, a veteran can be converted.

If there is a protection on the bodyguard and he is both recruited and shot, which one would go through? Does a recruit essentially work as 1 KP?

I'm still running for mayor, though.

[19:12] <Superpenguin> If mafia and conversions are on the same Doctor protected player, which takes priority?

Ok, Superpenguin's plan is stone cold dead now.

I'd like to know what people think the role of Mayor is.

<Cory> I think if it's not me, it should be Kisstoefur

What Cory said.

Screw all the mayor candidates. They all sound so desperate to be mayor and that just screams possible godfather to me.

Voters - who do you think should be mayor? Or what qualities do you want the mayor to have? Don't be influenced too much by the current campaigns. Just look back at past games and suggest a few names you think would be good at fulfilling the mayor role.

@Purpl - no one is going to take your word that you're a townie. You have to prove it through your posting and actions throughout the game. You're pretty much just saying "vote for me bcuz I is townie".

Update:

[19:20] <Tinaa> oh. doctor protected. sorry. doc protect = works against FIRST person/team to send in action.

Plan stays scarpped, though.

I want an average player to be mayor. Like me

I don't really think anything related to making a collaborative list of claims is a smart idea. Sure, the Blues got by easily in Apocalypse, but there was still a huge risk.

I'm still running for mayor, though.

I'd just like to ask something. Couldn't you do what you promised (working with inactives) as a "non-mayor"? Or at least, that's what I'm assuming was the election part of your post (#174).

... Instead, vote for me. Or don't. Your choice! I'm not going to be trying too hard to convince anyone, because I have an honest heart.

May I ask why you want to be Mayor? You didn't really provide a reason ; I couldn't even tell if this part was a joke or not.

I agree with that statement 100% - Feel that any of the players that are trying to hard probably has some kind of sinister agenda. I'd rather select a player that doesn't seem to care too much if they win or lose the election. So far MrKissToeFur stands out in my eyes as a player who WANTS the position but doesn't care about it that much at all. But there's still a whole bunch of players who has not spoken yet, so let's not be hasty. We have plenty of time.

Yes, I would still work with players even if not elected. The basic truth is, though, that mayor doesn't have any special abilties really for me to parade around and advertise in my campaign post. Literally anything I can do as a non-mayor, I can do as mayor. However, with mayor, I have that bodyguard protection meaning I can do what I could do as a non-mayor for longer.

I couldn't disagree more with this. In my experience, those that push the hardest for mayor are town.

It also doesn't help town one bit to handfeed the candidates with how they should campaign. We want a legit mayor with genuine pro-town goals. This is far more likely to lead to a scum filling the position than electing someone who's pushing hard to be elected.

If a player lacks the passion, they aren't going to do a good job. If you are going to elect at random, at least elect a player that has been proven time and time again to be an early mafia target.
