When you said playing both AC games at once I would recommend that! I still play all of the mainline games atleast once or twice a week. If you buy a welcome amiibo version it has the update preinstalled, if you buy base new leaf you’ll need to connect to the internet as updates are still available, you just cant purchase new games. If you had it digitally you could redownload as well.
