  • Sorry if this message seems random but I love your profile picture. Over the Garden Wall was one of my brother's favorite shows.

Thank you! Good taste on your brother's part. I'm not a big TV person, but Over the Garden Wall is one of the few shows I truly love. So strange and so multilayered.
Just here to say how much I love and adore your friend's doll! Definitely a creepy and cute doll.

Ha, I'm glad you liked it! Dolls are very much not my thing, but it's fun to see how many enthusiasts we have on TBT.

Thank you so much! I still can’t believe it. And congrats on your contest placement! I loved the seek-and-find style, such a clever idea.
hi sheando! I don't think i've mentioned this yet, but I really loved your writing for besting blunders :) I struggle a whole lot writing short angst/comfort stories (I tend to over-write conversations, if that makes sense), so reading yours gave me plentiful of inspiration for future personal writing projects :]

That's so kind of you to say! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. And that absolutely does make sense--I am a wordy person in all my writing and I've had to really work to attain ANY sense of brevity. (As my Besting Blunders wordcount shows, brevity is relative.) It's cool to hear that my story gave you some inspiration!
Your story for Besting Blunders was really well written. I felt myself getting properly sadder for Yuka as it carried on and felt quite in touch with the way she was feeling. I really enjoyed it!

I missed this comment somehow, I'm sorry! Thank you so much for your kind words. I spent a lot of time on that story--it's lovely to know you enjoyed it!
Hi Sheando, I just needed to say that I loved your Besting Blunders entry! I’m a sucker for stories with some sadness/angst and your writing is so well-thought out and descriptive. 🥺💕

Oh really? That's so neat. How long did you teach that for? 🤔 Tbh I'm guilty for not reading writing events often. I saw your long word count and figured I'd give it a try though (my logic was "Who would include that many words if they weren't passionate about writing to some degree" sdjfdjkgf) and I'm glad I gave it a go.

Depends on what you count as teaching! I taught novel writing/editing to high school students in less formal ways, then more formal ways, over about 7-8 years. Then I ended up doing some teaching for elementary kids, so I was still teaching writing (in part) but most of them were not writing entire novels. I definitely miss parts of it; I love the written word. (And I'm kind of an explainer, for better and for worse, haha.)

Oh that's super cool! I hope that was enjoyable for you. 🥺 And haha no I get that. Idk if this is strange to say but the way you articulate yourself through your posts has always stood out to me because it just feels like you're always able to convey your thoughts concisely? Especially with a lot of the fair discussion I've seen.
