Whitney wasn't sure she should have came to this party. Heck, she's not even sure she belonged here! She only came because Fang accidentally received two invitations in the mail, and gave the other one to her as thanks for being his friend. As soon as they got out of Kapp'n's taxi, Whitney growled at the sight of her long-time rival, Vivian. You see, ever since Whitney and Vivian were pups, they always seemed to dislike each other. Whitney hated that Vivan always thought she was above everyone else for returning to the series with her brand-new RV, and Vivian disliked Whitney for not catering to her like everyone else. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Whitney! I didn't know she was going to be at this party!" Fang said, sniffing the air, which smelled of elegant food and perfume. "It's ok, Fang. It's supposed to be a lavish party after all, of course, she'd be here! I bet she's over there, bragging about how cool her RV is. UGH! C'mon, Fang, let's get something to eat." So, Fang and Whitney walked in together and were hit immediately with all the sights and smells of the party. Audie was the DJ, playing all the hot and popular K.K. songs she could find, while people were dancing to beat. Others were having a great time eating all the delicious food and having the best of the best sparkling cider, only found at expensive stores. "Oh hey, there's Wolfgang and Lobo! I'll go hang out with them, see ya later Whitney!" Whitney waved sadly as Fang ran over to catch up with his friends, who all looked nice with their tuxedos on. Whitney then decided to go over to the food court to get something to drink, when she heard some familiar laughter that made her blood boil. "Well, well well! If it isn't Whitney! I'm surprised you came this year, Fang always tells me how much you dislike seeing me!" Whitney sighed, not even having the energy to even bear to even look at Vivian. "Vivian, I don't want to talk right now, I just want to have fun at this party, ok?" Vivian scoffed, then looked at Judy and Julia, who just came over to laugh at Whitney. "Oh? Well, isn't that something? I came to have fun, just like you. It's not every day I get to go to these parties, with my fashion label in all." This made Whitney jerk at the thought of her rival being able to make a killing out of her brand, being able to buy all the things she could for her luxurious RV. "You what?!" "Aw, what's the matter? Can't stand to see me living a successful lifestyle? You think you're better than me because you got to be in a movie?!" Whitney began to back away, as she didn't want want to make a scene. "Why are you backing away, huh? Are you scared? Are you gonna call Fang to save the day? What a pity!" Vivian and Judy started laughing super loud, which only made Whitney more furious. "Vivian for the last time, I am not a princess. I do not need to be saved. Now please leave me alone if you want to still look pretty." Whitney said through gritted teeth. Unfortunately, Whitney's comment only made Vivian and Judy laugh harder. "Or what? What are you gonna do, movie star? Oh, I'm so scared!" Then, at that moment, Whitney's feral side came out. She grabbed Vivian by her necklace, yanking it off her neck, and threw it at Julia's glass of sparkling cider, breaking it and the necklace, spilling cider and glass all over the floor. "MY NECKLACE! You fool! I SPENT 100,000 bells on that! Grr, I hope you're ready to pay me back ever last bell!" And with that, Vivian left in a huff, Judy following. "I can't say this in front of her, but thank you for throwing Vivian's necklace! She'd kill me if I ever told her this, but I was getting tired of her running her mouth!" Whitney smiled at Julia, as even though they stopped hanging out as much when Vivian arrived, their friendship still lasted all these years later. "You're welcome, Julia! Sorry about your cider, I can buy you another if you'd like-" "Oh, no need! I'm not too fond of that sparkling cider, it was a bit too fizzy for my liking. Anyways, about the money Vivian wants you to pay, I hear that outside on the balcony, there lurks a kitsune that will grant you any wish you want, all you have to do is catch it on the tail! Anyways, I should probably get going now, as Vivian's probably going to give me an earful for not following her when she left. See you, Whitney!" Julia then hugged Whitney before leaving. Whitney then went out to the balcony. It was slightly chilly, but Whitney didn't mind the temperature as she was able to see the full moon shining above her, making her necklace shine from the brightness. "What a beautiful night sky, despite everything." Just then, she saw a fox-like creature hop on top of the railings and lay next to her. "A Kitsune?" Whitney thought aloud. "Yes, I am! I smelled the food from my burrow, it smelled so good, that I had to stop by!" Whitney then turned behind her and frowned, seeing Fang, Wolfgang, and Lobo engaging in a competition to see who could drink the most sparkling cider. "Oh, if only I could have fun with my friends, like Fang!” The thought of hanging out with Julia and Skye again brought tears to her eyes. Unfortunately, Skye couldn't make it and Julia would rather hang out with Vivian to keep her happy. Whitney then began to start crying, concerning the little Kitsune. "Gee, I haven't been around people much in the last 1,000 years, but I can see that you're sad. What's wrong?" "I want to hang out with my friends again, like Fang! But I can't!" The Kitsune looked even more concerned as mascara dripped down her face like her tears. "I understand how that feels. I used to have a lot of friends too. But people kept chasing after us to try to grab our tails to grant their wishes, so we've been ordered to scatter and go places where no one lives. But I like meeting new people, so sometimes I break that order, like tonight!" Whitney then remembered what Julia told her about the Kitsune. "Say, about that, it's ok if you can't, but could you grant me a wish? I had a terrible time at that party.." The Kitsune smiled and then stood up, raising her 9 majestic tails, which shined in the moonlight. "Of course! I've been told not to grant anyone's wishes in fear of it being used for evil, but I can sense that you have a pure heart. What would you like to wish for?" Whitney then thought about her wish for a moment, then after a minute of thinking, she finally decided on what she wanted. "I wish for me and Vivian to make amends after our fight!" Whitney then grabbed one of the kitsune's tails, and suddenly a big bright light flashed in front of her eyes. The Kitsune then jumped with joy! "Wow, that was awesome! Anyways, why don't you talk to Vivian? She's out in front of the building. Oh, and one more thing, can I come with you? I've always wanted to make new friends! Whitney smiled at her new, eager friend and nodded her head, quickly making space in her handbag for the Kitsune to jump in. And so, the two friends walked through all the chaos of the party and made their way to the front of the building, where Vivian was sitting on the stairs, alone in the moonlight. Reluctantly, Whitney sat next to her. "Hey, Vivian, I wanted to apologize for breaking your necklace. I didn't mean to, I was just really upset you called me a princess." "It's ok, I'm sorry too. I've been such a terrible person tonight. You must think I'm a real monster." "No, not at all." Vivian then looked at Whitney in shock. "But how? You've seen me, I treat everyone else like they're below me, and I always make fun of you. I hate to say it, but maybe I shouldn't have returned from Animal Forest e+." "Oh, don't say that! I used to think that way too, you know. I thought because I wasn't one of the original wolves, that I didn't deserve the fame I got. Starring in a movie was nice, but it wasn't everything. Eventually, I got bored of my movie fame and decided to move away to a nice island, which is where I met Fang! The point is, despite how you've treated me and others in the past, I still think you're a good person." Vivian gasped at the sight of her biggest rival giving her the best advice she's heard in a very long time. She then did something she would never do on a normal night, she gave Whitney a big hug! "Thank you for that advice, despite how I've always treated you in front of my friends, I have always admired and looked up to you for how kind and understanding you are." "You're welcome, oh, look at the time! The party's almost over! Want to get something to eat before we go?" Vivian nodded, and the two new friends has lots of fun together until it was time to leave. Whitney waved as she got back in her taxi with Fang, while Vivian waved as she got into her RV. And ever since that night, on the full moon of every month, she would always be visited by her Kitsune friend, who always had brought something to share.
