If you scan the card yourself, it overrides the 16 villager cycle and you get them back immediately. But if someone else scans the card and put the animal in boxes, when picking them up you must have passed through the cycle or the move in option will now appear.
Hello! I saw your post at the looking for a villager thread and want you to know that if you want Ankha back you'll have to cycle through 16 villagers before you can invite her again. If you haven't moved in and out 16 other animals and try to invite her, even if you go to a town where she's in boxes the option "move to my town" will never appear. Just wanted to let you know!
