Need some TBT Bells to help you save up for future collectibles or items from the next Animal Crossing game? You can get them right here. In the last week, I composed six Animal-Crossing related logic problems, but I want people to try them. To encourage people into doing my logic problems (which will hopefully get other users to set requests for me to make logic problems, I decided to host this giveaway.

The logic problem to solve is - Tom Nook?s House Robbery. I have a picture of the problem, which not only has the clues and story, but it also has a grid you can write on. Be sure to save this image if you want to work on the problem.

Once you find out the answers, post them here on this thread, but put them in spoilers please. The first five members to solve this logic problem gets 100 TBT each.

I tried, but I don't see/recognise all the connections, so I'm missing a few puzzle pieces to be able to finish it.
Sorry! :)

Same! I figured out some of it but can't find any other connections. I'll have another go at it afterwards.

I've been working on this for a while and I think I've got one so far. It's certainly putting my deductive skills to the test!

Great job Coach and King Dorado. There’s still 300 TBT left of this giveaway.

couldn't people just c/p answers after the first one?

I’m sorry, but that’s not allowed. Everybody needs to show individual effort. And remember, no peeking at spoilers.

This reminds me of a thing called Math SuperStars back in elementary school, where you had to solve logic problems like these, but ya know with numbers.

I never got any of them, I was a dumm kid. This is a smart persons thing.

Thanks for hosting this! I figured I would give it a go, and I had fun :D If you ever make more, for bells or not, I'd love to try~

Answer snipped

Alright, that?s all the Bells I?m giving away. Anyway, since this contest is already won, I will post the answers publicly. If you haven?t solved the puzzle, but you still want to solve it, do not look at the text below. If you want to know how to solve this puzzle and any other logic problem, you need to pay attention closely to the big text and the summarized answers.

ANSWERS:

  • Clue #3 says that the villager that wanted to be rich stole the most amount of Bells, as the villager that left a photo of himself/herself stole the least amount of Bells. Since no villager stole any less than 100 million Bells and no villager stole anymore than 300 million Bells, the one that wanted to be rich stole 300 million Bells and the one that left their photo behind stole 100 million Bells. For being two different villagers, whoever wanted to be rich did not leave their photo behind.
  • Clue #1 says that Rosie stole more Bells than whoever wanted to go shopping at GracieGrace, as she stole fewer Bells than whoever left an audio tape explaining who robbed him and why they robbed him. That means Rosie isn?t the villager that left an audio tape nor is she the villager that wanted to go shopping, as the villager that wanted to go shopping didn?t leave an audio tape behind. It also means that Rosie stole between 150 million to 250 million Bells, the villager that wanted to go shopping stole between 100 million to 200 million Bells, and the villager that left an audio tape behind stole between 200 million to 300 million Bells.
  • Using the knowledge from Clue #3, Rosie?s motive isn?t to get rich, as she didn?t leave her photo behind. That means Rosie?s motive is either revenge, punishment, or becoming secretary, as she must?ve left a name card, a map, or a letter.
  • Clue #2 said that whoever had the motive to go shopping has left behind a map with the culprit?s house circled in. Using the knowledge from Clue #1, Rosie didn?t leave a map behind, as the villager that left a map behind stole between 100 million to 200 million Bells.
  • Clue #4 implies that either Roald or Chief stole 300 million Bells from Tom Nook, and whoever didn?t steal 300 million Bells left an audio tape. That means whoever left an audio tape didn?t steal 300 million Bells. Moreover, only Roald or Chief stole 300 million Bells, and only Roald or Chief left an audio tape behind.
  • Since the villager that stole 300 million Bells wanted to be rich, only Roald and Chief had the motive to be rich. Using the knowledge from Clue #1, if the villager that left an audio tape behind didn?t steal 300 million Bells, Rosie would?ve stolen either 150 million Bells or 200 million Bells, as the villager that had the motive to go shopping stolen either 100 million Bells or 150 million Bells. Since the villager that wanted to go shopping left a map behind while the villager that stole 100 million Bells left behind their photo, the villager that wanted to go shopping didn?t steal 100 million Bells, meaning that they stole 150 million Bells. In return, Rosie stole 200 million Bells and the villager that left an audio tape behind stole 250 million Bells. As a result, either Roald or Chief stole 250 million Bells, as the other stole 300 million Bells. In addition, either Mira or Mint stole 150 million Bells as the other stole 100 million Bells.
  • Since only Mira and Mint would?ve stolen 100 million and 150 million Bells, these two villagers would also be the only villagers to have the motive to go shopping, as one of these two left their photo behind and the other left their map behind.
  • Clue #4 says that whoever stole 200 million Bells left a letter explaining why they robbed Nook?s house. Since Rosie stole 200 million Bells, she should be the villager that written the letter and left it behind. If Mira and Mint left a map and photo behind, and the villager that left an audio tape behind stole 250 million Bells, than the villager that left a card with their name on it stole 300 million Bells. Which means whoever had the motive of being rich left their name card behind, and only Roald or Chief would?ve left their name card behind.
  • Clue #5 says that neither Roald nor the villager that left their name card behind got revenge by stealing Bells from Tom Nook. Therefore, Roald didn?t want revenge, the name card culprit didn?t want revenge, and Roald didn?t leave his name card behind.
  • Using the knowledge from previous clues, since Roald didn?t leave his name card behind, and whoever did leave their name card behind stole 300 million Bells, Roald didn?t steal 300 million Bells. With Chief being the only one left, Chief had the motive to become rich, so he stole 300 million Bells, and he left a name card behind saying ?Chief was here?. Roald stole 250 million Bells and left an audio tape behind.
  • Clue #6 said that whoever wanted revenge against Tom Nook for overpricing their house stole 50 million more Bells than Mint, but 50 million less Bells than whoever wanted to punish Tom Nook for being greedy. This means that Mint neither wants revenge against Tom Nook nor wants to punish him. It also means that Mint stole 100 million or 150 million Bells, whoever wanted revenge stole 150 million Bells or 200 million Bells, and whoever had the motive to punish Nook stole either 200 million or 250 million Bells.
  • Using the bonus detail that whoever wanted to punish Nook didn?t leave a letter behind or the knowledge from previous clues, Mint couldn?t have stolen 100 million Bells since whoever stole 150 million Bells had the motive to go shopping, and whoever stole 50 million more Bells than Mint had the motive for revenge. Therefore, Mint is the villager that had the motive to go shopping at GracieGrace, stole 150 million Bells, and left a map behind with her house circled.
  • Since Mint stole 150 million Bells and Rosie stole 200 million Bells, Rosie had the motive to get revenge against Tom Nook for overpricing the construction of her house. She even written the letter complaining about how expensive construction is and that she?s stealing the Bells for that reason.
  • Since the villager that wanted revenge stole 200 million Bells and Roald stole 250 million Bells, Roald had the motive to punish Tom Nook for his greedy behavior and teach him a lesson, even if it means breaking the law. He even left an audio tape behind that explains his motive.
  • Since Mint stole 150 million Bells and Roald wanted to punish Tom Nook, Mira had the motive to replace Isabelle as secretary so she could get closer to taking over the town and make it her way. She stole 100 million Bells and left a photo of her?s behind.
  • Mira - Replace Isabelle - 100 million - Photo
  • Roald - Punish Nook - 250 million - Audio Tape
  • Rosie - Revenge - 200 million - Letter
  • Chief - Become Rich - 300 million - Name Card
  • Mint - Shopping - 150 million - Map
