10th Villager?

I have 9 villagers in my town and suddenly someone new is moving in. I thought this could only happen if you invited someone to move in through the campsite or from a friends town? But I haven't done either, I don't even have the campsite project built and I haven't been to anyone else's town?

I don't think I've come across anyone in streetpass. It's just a shame because it's an awful character and they're moving in on a really bad spot xD Guess I'll just ignore him and hope he gets the message!

For a 10th villager to come by, there is only 3 reasons : campsite, visiting another village through WiFi or local network or getting someone to visit through the same channels (the other village has to have a villager that was voided), StreetPass (in which a villager was voided).

If you say that you don't have met anyone by StreetPass then it's a random (and lucky) 10th villager.

Awh, bummer. Sorry to hear -.- Same thing has happened to me a couple months ago apparently I streetpassed somebody but my 3DS XL didn't read it or something and I received Sally as a tenth villager. I didn't think much of it and thought it was random, but eventually she started talking about her past town, past mayor, and would sing their town tune.

I got Marcel like this and was mystified. I hadn't streetpassed anyone or visited any other towns for some time and I've never built a campsite. I'd been suspecting that one of the people I'd let in for sigs had somehow snuck him in with them, but if it has to be through my visiting another town, I'm really confused. I can vaguely put a bead on when it happened because Bertha was moving out with 3 days to go, and then on the day she was due to go, she was still there and Marcel's plot appeared, so he'd interrupted her move. I certainly hadn't visited anyone in that 72 hour period... I'd had a few people come in, but I hadn't gone anywhere.

Anyone got a town with a name like Homoka or Honoka, and recently voided Marcel? Explain yourself, you owe me a perfect cherry tree! (LOL kidding)

That might explain why Curlos moved in although I had nine villlagers already. I did streetpass with someone yesterday while I was out getting shopping.

You don't have to do the visiting, the wifi visit can be either way. If you let people in then one of them brought him along. Any wifi will do it.

Marcel is cool (he is called Isma?l in French). He grew to be one of my favorite villager in my town (he was one of the starting 5 animals that were there) even though I had never seen him before. Lopez and him have a funny relationship. He seems to dig Lopez's self-important personality. He was all impressed once by Lopez's dancing moves.

Lopez also has a unique relationship with Roald. Roald is laughing of Lopez for his propension to refer to himself as a star. Roald nearly bullies Lopez sometimes in giving him gifts and Lopez is trying hard to become his friend. Funny happenings in my village. It's not in my head, it really happened. I love it when you catch two animals in a discussion or when Lopez asks me to fetch Roald because he wants to talk to him...
