In 15 days, Animal Forest that was released on April 14, 2001 in Japan will turn 15 making the entire Animal Crossing franchise 15 years old!

Share your precious memories here!

(Not to mention tomorrow will be the 10th Anniversary of Wild World in Europe...)

my most precious memory is probably in the most recent game. i fell asleep whilst playing with a friend in their town, and they waited the two hours it took me to wake up again c: it's a shame we've now drifted apart.

I just remember playing Animal Crossing my whole life, even though my family never owned the N64 game. I think my fondest memory was always getting help from my mom while I played the Gamecube version xD I was young and still bad at the games, but I loved to play them still. Animal Crossing means a lot to me. I grew up on it <3

I started playing it in 2002 after recommending the thing to so many parents while working at Toys R Us that I sold myself on the friggen thing! I admit the NES games were a perfect Trojan Horse, or Trojen Nintendo! I'm not normally into communication or life simulation games, as Tomodachi Life bores me- so too is Miitomo now, so I easily would have passed on Animal Crossing if it wasn't for the NES games. What makes it different is the way it simulates stuff. The real holidays, and the fact that these are animals, not humans makes that cute factor bring me back, because it feels like they're the kinds of things you used to imagine as a child. It's a great series, the text created by both NCL and NOA is quite amazing, and you feel like these animals are living real lives. Here's to another 15 years of Animal Crossing!

Fondest memory for me as a newbie lol was seeing the craz surrounding the release of NL, I had played tons of Nintendo games but never animal crossing. My friend had posted about getting it and I asked her about it she told it was basically like virtual drugs lol it was THAT addicting. So I then went around to every Gamestop and no one had the game and I wouldn't get it for a week :( I just happened to see Best Buy had one copy left!! So I rushed over to get it and didn't find it on the shelf, so I asked someone if they had it. He told me they were sold out :0 I told him the site showed one copy left so he checked the back and........I GOT IT!! I raced home to try out this oh so addicting game and instantly fell in love! I am new to the series but I feel such a connection to it! I love being able to escape real world problems but jumping into ACNL :)

Unfortunately, Ac:pG was not my first AC game. It was ACWW back in October of 2006. I did get ACPG though as soon as i first heard about it in 2007. I loved it!

My fondest memories:
-Getting back into New Leaf after a long time, and beginning to have my first real Animal Crossing experience.
-Getting several villagers from the TBT Forums.

My fondest memory of Animal Crossing is when I first got new leaf. I had no experience with animal crossing, and I actually expected it to be boring since my brother when playing smash with him, he told me it was a stupid, boring game and put it in a generally negative light for me. Yet, when I first got New Leaf, it was a sunday in august. So basically the game started on the fireworks festival when I got mayorhood, I didn't even know it was a holiday in the game, I just assumed it was celebrating me arriving in town. Isabelle told me that the fireworks festival would be starting in several hours and as mayor I should go relax. I instantly made my town flag that day, and submitted it as a design unknowing that it would be a firework in the show. I felt so touched that this whole ceremony was happening for me, when in reality it was all just a part of the game. This is what got me instantly hooked to the game.

I have all the games in the series, and even though I started out on the GameCube one, City Folk (or Let's Go to the City, as it's known over here) will always be my favourite, just because of all the nostalgia and nice memories of playing with people online. It's got lovely, charming graphics.

I remember playing Wild world and City Folk when I was four. I kept screwing up but I still loved the series. I:

Thought the bin in was storage and kept wondering why all my stuff kept disappearing :p

TTed, got cockroaches, and never went in my house for all eternity.

At the start of the game, bcoz I couldn't read I never did Tom Nook's chores and saw my sister with a net and got really angry so she had to do the FOR me and I skipped around hitting my favourite villagers with it :p

Thought that by saying "Never mind" every time I talked to a villager, they would like me.

In CF, my sister had a silver shovel which I really wanted and almost quit our town to get rid of it
(Thankfully a silver fishing rod was in store just in time)

And a lot, lot more! :p

I think my fondest memories are from when New Leaf came out, since I had literally been waiting for it since E3 2010, and played it nonstop for a couple months. I had so many friends playing the game at the time and it was really a blast. I have a lot of good memories of playing City Folk too, though, like getting to play with some friends far away with the Wii Speak. (anyone remember that thing? man lol) It's hard to believe it's been 8 years since I started playing Animal Crossing! I hope we get a new installment soon, since I didn't like the two spinoffs last year a whole lot (but Happy Home Designer was pretty good) and I think it's about time we got a new one. I can't wait to see what new things they do with the series next! :D

My fondest memory would be when I first got City Folk on April Fool's Day in 2009.
Another would be when I first met my South Korean friend on New Leaf right when I got it in 2013.

Nintendo released a commemorative AC video.

I read about Animal Crossing in a magazine before it was released and just the description of the game really appealed to me so I bought a Gamecube and then the game when it was released here in the States in 2002.The game was as good as I thought it would be.I didn't really like Wild World or City Folk but New Leaf certainly renewed my interest in the series.

The first time I experienced Animal Crossing was wild world in the same year new leaf was released in Europe. I wanted to see what it was all about. I have to say I was pretty depressed at that time and animal crossing was the best experience ever. Jay mainly! I love him to pieces :3 I am so glad animal crossing was created. Best game out there.
