3 star rating

Looking for some help with getting my 3 star. I have been trying for so so long and I can’t get there can someone please give some tips on where I’m going wrong.

This is what I have-
Way over 130 flowers of 3 different breeds
50 pieces of fence
67 pieces of furniture
5 varieties of fruit trees, plus normal and cedar
Almost no weeds
4 bridges
2 inclines
10 villagers

I honestly have no clue what I’ve done wrong here, I’m only on 2 stars. Please help I’m starting to get bored I’ve been stuck on the same part of the game for too too long.

Too much stuff is likely the cause -- spread things out more if its bunched up, clean up some of the flowers, etc.

You need more flowers, I think. Also remember that furniture should be spread out on different parts of your island, and it needs to be a mix of bought / crafted / nook mile items. If you ask Isabelle right now, I am guessing she would mention more flowers... What does she say when you ask her about your island rating?

She either asks me to plant more fruit or flowers. No mention to anything else and it’s been that way for about 2 weeks

Ah, so there you have your answer then. I think you need at least 200+ flowers (probably more) and apparently more fruit trees. Do that, and then ask her again, and you`re closer to your 5-star rating.

Trying adding the missing fruit and one or two bamboo. Make sure to water the flowers you have and maybe add a couple more breeds of flowers. There are eight kinds, so maybe only having three of them isn't enough. It might help to make sure the flowers are in several areas of the island.

I usually plop some large furniture items around, one in each quarter -- lighthouse, monster statue, etc. It could also help to have your buildings spread out a bit.

If you plunk things down and they are spread out well, getting to three stars shouldn't be a problem. I've reset many, many times, and this is how I get to 3 stars to unlock terraforming. Also, make sure you don't have more than 12 or so items dropped anywhere, including the coins that fall from trees.
