I posted a day ago about this. I have taken on your suggestions. They haven’t helped me. I’m so so close to quitting the game because I’ve done literally everything.

This is what I now have-
Over 150 flowers of 5 different breeds
50 fences
69 pieces of furniture
Every fruit tree (at least 8 of each)
Almost 0 weeds
4 bridges
2 inclines
10 villagers

Everything is spaced out well, no rubbish left out any where, Isabelle tells me I need more flowers and more varieties of trees and saplings, however I have everything and plenty of all the varieties.

Any advice?

You need to plant more flowers. It might be that they need to be in full bloom as well, that gives you more points. But if that is what Isabelle says when you ask her, then that is what your island is missing. Just go to Nooks Cranny, buy a ton of seeds, and plant them wherever. Reach 200 flowers on your NM chart and ask her again about the island rating. All you have to do is keep adding what she says is lacking, and you will get your 3 stars, there is no question about it.

8 of each type of fruit tree should be enough variety, I don't know why she's asking for more trees. Maybe she's grouping bushes and trees together as "saplings." You could try finding Leif and planting some more bushes if you haven't already and see if Isabelle says anything different.

Thankyou for the advice. I decided for the first time to time travel as I was so so tired of it. And I logged on and off a few times and finally out of the blue I got the 3 stars. Maybe the items I had on my island were not recording properly as I’ve had plenary of stuff for a very long time. I was checking to make sure everything was fully bloomed and trees were grown, and the whole time they have been. Some sort of weird glitch I think. Either way I finally hit 3 stars!!! So Thankyou everyone for your advice, finally the end of a very tiring month of game play
