Who else is intrested in seeing this? I'm most likely going tonight or tomorrow so I can tell you what I thought of the movie. If anyone else has or plans on seeing it, give your opinions.

Haha, you pointed it out before me. In the time the film's set, the Romans would not have even conquered Italy, if I remember correctly.

I haven't seen much about the film, but it looks quite interesting. If I remember correctly, didn't all the 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians die in the Battle of Thermopylae?

I just got back from seeing it and it's definitely the best movie of the year, so far. There was a story (a simple one, though) but it was better then say, Ghost Rider. The whole movie looked amazing, but it was super violent.

I'd just like to point out that its historically inaccurate, even though none of you said it WAS accurate.

Meh, depends on the social standing of the soldier and the time period we're talking about. Metal breastplates were pretty expensive things, and impractical in some roles. The linothorax (linen) armour was very popular at certain points in Greek history, for example.

Personally, I'd go naked... seeing as I'd prolly be the first dead anyway since I'd be a foot taller than everyone else.
