So I had an idea a couple of hours ago, and I've been thinking about how I'd like to go about it, but here are my thoughts on it so far:

I've noticed a lot of people on here are starting to get into drawing and even a few people have recently bought tablets, and when they post their work and ask for critique the only thing people can really say is "follow some tutorials, they'll help you learn and get on a good track."

So what if I just sort of... did a weekly stream where I do just that, to an extent?

I mean I know I'm not the best artist ever, but I do know my way around paint tool SAI, I do have access to it for other people, and I can share what I know about drawing in general.

I was thinking about more or less drawing a picture on stream and giving very detailed commentary on everything I'm doing and how I'm doing it so that anybody can follow along - starting from the barebones sketch to shading if it doesn't take too long.

What do you guys think?

This sounds really amazing! I think you should do it! I know many people would love to watch and learn! I've seen a few tutorials but a lot of them in terms of colouring and shading etc don't go into much detail- mostly just speedpaint

I would definitely watch and its very nice of you to think about taking some time out to do it

I would love to help the initiative (via multistreams perhaps, or such) but since sketch to shading takes me many hours, I don't think people would be inclined to watch, haha.

Still though, nice idea, tell me if I can help in any way because I'd definitely love to.

Yes I was actually considering doing streams like this recently! Maybe something where people can request specific tutorials beforehand and the stream can address people's requests

I've got like... a lot of free time all of a sudden, so I'm going to do a trial session of this.

If you're interested or know anybody interested, stop on by. I'm probably going to have to wait until a few people are here

Here's the link to my stream. I'll see what I can do to help people learn.

Anybody who wants to help, shoot me a PM and we'll find out a way to help everyone.

Welp, that didn't work out as I had in mind. I probably won't do it but if anybody else wants to pick up the idea feel totally free.

Dude, it was fun though! :( I think you were doing well. Especially with the second drawing, it was starting to look really awesome, you got the body looking gooood.

I can somewhat pick up the idea but it can just be a regular stream since I usually stream at night my time and still live with my family, so I can't talk. I can answer questions in the chat though.

I think it'd have helped if you got more feedback into this before you started, so like you could dedicate a stream to focusing on one thing that people are struggling with (like eyes or something), and then the next on hands and the next on poses or someth

these are all very good ideas! but maybe set the time first so that people can catch the stream? I would have totally joined if I were on at the time. I'd like to learn how to use SAI better because I've only used photoshop before.

I hope someone picks up this idea and make it happen <3

Just to clarify, I'm not doing dedicated streams where I only explain how to use SAI and draw specific things - because that wasn't really what I had in mind. (Someone else can do that if they want)

But I do stream regularly just drawing normal random stuff, and I am open to questions while I'm drawing.
