Hey! I started playing a few days ago and I have a couple questions about the game.

1. What causes balloons to appear? Is it random or time related?

2. Are the only things you can get out of balloons the critters you can fish up or catch in the net or materials? (Seriously, who's bright idea was it to put critters in the balloon gifts? It's not like they're hard to get..)

3. Speaking of materials, what's the main way to get that friend powder? If I'd known it'd end up being so rare I wouldn't have wasted it on the treasure maps... It's so odd that random furniture requires it to be crafted and then if you don't have it you gotta fork over 33 lucky tickets since you don't got 3 bags of powder..

4. Will random villager gifts when you speak to them ever be anything but materials? Like, can I get furniture, clothes, or candies for the current event from em?

5. Will there ever be more than 2 cookies for sale at the fortune cookie cart? Two seems really limited, but then again considering how much they want your money through lucky tickets I won't be surprised at the answer being no.

Thanks in advance if anyone can answer my questions! :D

1. They appear randomly at different times of the day

2. You can also get maps for blathers, that's about it, but for someone like me who is lazy I like getting bugs/fish from the balloons, saves me from having to buy them from people =P

3. It's not rare, I have almost 2000 so far, you get it mainly from the flower events. Share "rare creatures" with all your friends and you will get a lot of friend powder

4. During events like the fishing tournament the animals at your camp will sometimes give you rare fish, during scavenger hunt events they will give you gyrodites. If you give them rare fish/bugs/fruit they will give you fortune cookies (not Leaf Ticket ones)

5. No, there is always 2. Sometimes they have a Leaf Ticket fortune cookie or two though for 5000 bells, you should always grab one if they have one, they seem to have better drop rates as most of my good items have come from the 5000 bell fortune cookies

Friend Powder, for the people who have been playing since the beginning is more than likely maxed out for most. I started playing three months after the game was released, and I would have to sell off my FP regularly prior to them adding Blather's Treasure Hunt. I would recommend focusing on leveling your villagers first, so that you're not hurting for bells/FP by doing the treasure hunt. You can favorite furniture each villager needs in order to invite them. Be sure to use that function, and take it one villager at a time.

Haha, sadly the flower event ended before I'd made any friends... I only just now got a fifth friend even. xD

I'm making sure to buy both fortune cookies every day, though. >-> I've gotten a wooden stool three times and a fire extinguisher twice. Just more fodder to shove into Gulliver's boat I guess. xD
