Hi! I am pretty new to this board and I just have a couple random questions I want to ask after joining.

When you sell something to someone on here how do they pay you?

How do I find out what I should price something as, I've only just started playing so I don't want to get ripped off when selling something.

How quickly do villagers move out and how does trading/selling villagers work?

Depending on what you want in terms of payment. The forum has it's own currency system and transactions can take place through there, though I believe the going rate is 100 TBT for 3 mil ACNL bells (idk someone actually paying attention would be able to correct me on that). If you're looking for payment/trading/buying in that primarily, you would post in the TBT Marketplace. If you're wanting ACNL bells, you would post in the Re-Tail sub-board.

You can always lurk the various marketplaces to determine this, as pricing can vary. For example, I believe most furniture sets sell for 1 Mil ACNL bell wise. (Could be wrong here again as well) So just merely observe pricing and guestimate from there.

I think with a full village, they tend to ping nearly every two days to move, give a day about three or four days off before moving. Trading and selling villagers would take place primarily in the Villager Trading Plaza (Please understand Looking For threads are forbidden to avoid clutter). My understanding of how it works, it that once you've paid the buyer you eventually go to their town and talk to the villager to convince them to move to your town. After that you'd need to wait a day or two without time traveling before their plot shows up.

Well first things first, welcome to The Bell Tree!

When you're selling, the method of payment of course depends on what currency you're using (in game vs. board currency) and how much they're spending. To use forum bells to pay, click "Bells" under their avatar to bring up the currency exchange then you (or they) just type in the amount they want and hit submit. You should get a popup notifying you that the bells were transferring correctly and probably a PM too. If you want to sell something for in game bells, you can do the drop method or the Re-Tail method. Drop method is faster and more simple for smaller dollar purchases, as the buyer can simply fill their pockets with bells, then come to you and drop them on the ground for you to retrieve. The Re-Tail method is easier to keep track of large bell amount purchases. What you would do there is put 8 items up in the retail spaces and max the prices out (999,999 bells each). That's only one bell short of a million so it's a pretty easy way to keep track of how much they've handed over at once. That's a pretty basic explanation, but if you need more detail, feel free to ask!

The search feature is pretty good for finding similar items to help you with pricing. The forum economy seems to fluctuate around certain items, so try to look for recently posted threads. Or if you'd prefer, put your items up and ask for price offers. You may get a good offer that way but most members are happy to haggle prices too!

Villager moving depends on if you time travel (abbreviated TT around here) by adjusting your in game or DS's clock. Feel free to check out the Villager Trading Plaza to see people trading/selling villagers. Keep in mind that looking for threads would be spam the forum pretty quickly so there's a specific sticky at the top you should post there if there's someone you're looking for. But you can post a giveaway/sale/auction for villagers in that section.
