So, I have a few questions about TBT Bells. I looked a bit to see if I could find the answers, but didn't find anything. I didn't feel like looking more, so I am asking them to be quicker.

#1. What are the places where you can't earn TBT Bells? I know there's the Basement, and the Introduction Board, but are there other places?

#2. For how many words posted do I earn 1 TBT Bell?

Thank you

You are correct on #1. Those are the only places, except for the woods (Friday the 13th and Halloween). No for #2. You can earn part of a bell. It depends on the length of the post. Your post was like 1-2 bells.

TBT Marketplace doesn't yield any TBTB. As for words, I have no idea. I've been trying to crack down on the formula for some time but I've never gotten around to it.

Wrong, that is dependent on the board that you are posting on. It is completely possible to get more than one bell for a one word post.

So, I'm guessing that posting in the Bell Tree HQ earns more because you are answering questions and such?

There's really no definitive answer to this. Really, the only answer is that it's because Jer/Jubs wanted it that way. I don't think that we can easily conclude that, plus the Bulletin Board didn't really exist until a few months ago, so I don't think it just b/c people are answering questions, no.

Do we earn bells when posting in the bulletin board?

I've seen at a few times that they took away some bells... Is it possible that they automatically take some out if you post two times in a row?

Multiple sequential posts by the same user in the same thread are automatically merged into one post by the forum software. This is done through an edit to the first post in the sequence. Post edits trigger a recalculation of the bells earned by the post, but in order to get this newly earned value added to your bell count the original earned value needs to be subtracted first. There's probably some sort of time limit in play here to prevent abuse.

Oh, and this is all conjecture on my part based on observation.

Probably the best explanation I've seen yet.

Ah thanks! I've always wondered why bell count went down after a merge.
