A few questions about TBT bells

So, the website's currency, AKA Bell Tree Bells, are pretty cool, and are usually used more than New Leaf's in game bells, shortened to IGB. But I just have two or so questions about TBT bells.

1. How to get them?
I know you get them depending on how long your posts are. But I didn't know this applied to comments. I finally found my transactions, and I saw that comments can give me anywhere from 0.3 bells to around 3 bells. Threads usually give me 3 to 11 bells. So is that it? The more rambling you do the more cash you get? I knew this about threads but not comments. And is it based of letters, or words?

2. I "spent" some from making posts?
It also says that I made a post (with a line through the word post) that spent TBT instead of giving it. My only guess is that maybe my post got deleted for whatever reason and it took away the bells I had previously earned from that post?

I'm just a little confused by these so an answer or two would be helpful. Thanks!

1. You're correct: the bigger the posts you make, the more TBT you earn. You can earn up to 10-11 TBT per post, so if you find yourself posting a lot, try to make an effort to make essay-like posts, since it'll earn you more TBT in the long run. I'm not sure if it's calculated from words or letters, but I do know that bigger posts = more TBT. And besides making threads and posting in them, you can also earn TBT from voting in polls (it's not much at all though).

2. TBT is calculated by the current post content. Say, for example, you type up a massive post that earns you 10 TBT. Then you realize you don't like it, so you edit it and shorten it into a shorter response that's only worth 1 TBT. It'll calculate the difference and take away TBT from you for editing your post, so it'll seem like 9 TBT has magically poofed away or was stolen from you. You'll also spend bells each time you use the image uploader, so it's better to use imgur or another image hosting site instead.

Regarding bells being removed, that can be for a number of reasons. I've noticed that if I post on a thread which hasn't been active for a while then my bells will be removed and on my transaction log I will see that the post has been crossed out with a line through, like you are describing.

I think there is a limit to how much tbt you can make per post. Not sure now without looking but generally yes, the longer your posts the more tbt you can make. You can also get tbt by selling your in game bells. The current rate is 100tbt to 20mil igb

Weird thing is, I've never edited any posts, so I have no idea where these bells are going, but it's usually only 0.3 or so, so it's not a huge deal.

Also, now I'm curious the max amount of bells you can make from a post. This is my biggest post yet and it netted me 12.2 bells.

I've heard that post merges charge you too. Is that true? If it is, that might be why you are losing bells.
