Well, here's to my last night in my Animal Crossing:Wild World town. I will be placing you back in your original game case where you have not rested since the day I bought you many years ago. Oh, how I will remember the town of Otter.
Walking through the fruit groves I painstakingly planned out, will I miss only being able to carry 15 pieces of fruit at one time? My golden roses, how I agonized over breeding the correct flowers to have you bloom in my town, not to mention all of the watering I had to do beforehand just to obtain the golden watering can before I could consider letting the black roses wilt.
My townies, some of my favorite friends who shared their photos with me and whom I had to beg not to leave. Daisy, Bones, Alfonso, Agent S, just to name a few. Then there were those townies whom I thought would never leave: Caesar, Tabby, and all of the cows. Good Lord, the cows and bulls that moved to my town (sometimes multiple times!). The town of Otter must have been bovine heaven. Every cow/bull that moved to my town was treated with a BBQ grill as a welcome gift. They never got the hint. To the townies I never had the pleasure of meeting: Apollo (we share a birthday), Tiffany (a goth bunny, you have to love that), Goldie, Lucky and any monkey. I hope we finally get to meet in a new town.
My house was a quaint homey place with 5 rooms to decorate, but only an attic to sleep in. I'll miss the throne I had to save up for, and the Exotic furniture I had to pay Redd a pretty penny/bell for to get the final matching piece. I'll miss the turnips on the table I saved for just the right selling day (shhh...they aren't supposed to stay fresh that long).
And to dear Tom Nook, we'll be seeing each other again tomorrow in a new town, you in your new job, and me in mine. I wish you would give me a frequent customer discount, but you'll probably act as if you have never seen me before. Even so, somehow I would rather owe bells to you, than anyone else.
I'll miss all of this and more, but tomorrow I will be moving on to bigger and better things. I will never forget Otter, the good times and bad. My old town only increases my anticipation for my new town. I may return some day, but I fear it will be a very, very long time from now.
Farewell, favorite town. Tomorrow I turn over a New Leaf.
