Welcome to my Lostglade island journal! I'm only just beginning in New Horizons, but hopefully this can be a little place to track how Lostglade will change and grow over time. It won't be following any strict themes, but you can eventually expect to see a nice mix of fantasy, rustic, and historical aesthetics once it's developed more, as these are all themes that appeal to me the most.

Around the time Jacques moved in from the campsite, I decided to go on my first villager hunt to find my seventh villager. With only fifteen tickets, my expectations were fairly relaxedโ€”see some villagers, gather some resources, and if I found someone I liked when my tickets started running low, then I could invite them. Villagers like Melba and Rodeo were certainly tempting, but I'd only just started, and I wasn't ready to pick someone just yet. I was hoping I wouldn't come to regret passing them up...

...and I did not.

Speaking of happy twists!

On just my sixth ticket, I found Leopold! He'll be a permanent resident of Lostgladeโ€”and I was absolutely thrilled to find him so soon.
A couple days later, once both Jacques and Leopold had settled in, I thought it was time to look for an eighth villager. However, Lily had some things on her mind as well...

See you again, little frog!

Sad as I was to let her go, I did. Hopefully, we'll meet again someday, and maybe then she'll be more ready to settle down somewhere (coughLostgladecough) for good.

Naturally, she still needed some time before she left, so it was onto the hunt! After my first stroke of luck finding Leopold so quickly, I knew that I wasn't going to be so lucky a second time, and went in with expectations appropriately lowered.
And then I found Dobie on my first ticket.

Kinda makes me feel bad for giving him more stuff...

I'm certain that Dobie will be a perfect fit for Lostglade, and may even be able to offer some wisdom to the other villagers. (In some cases, some much-needed wisdom...) But just as he was finished moving in, it was time for Lily to set out on her own, and that meant it was time to set out in search of an eighth villager... again.

This time, towards the end of my tickets, I met up with someone I'd seen on a mystery island once before.

Hello again! And yes, there's bugs. Maybe too many.

I couldn't say no to Rodeo a second time, and so, at least for the time being, he'll also be a resident of Lostglade! I'm sure this very sweet and only somewhat demonic-looking bull will have no trouble making friends here. Probably.

So, what to do with an evening to myself, plenty of Nook Miles with little to spend them on, and an island in need of a new face?

I cracked my knuckles and prepared to settle in for the long haulโ€”I was ready and excited for a serious villager hunt this time, to visit all sorts of islands, see all sorts of villagers, and maybe even finally find those elusive windflowers that I'm still missing. Hopefully, by the journey's end, I'd have found a villager who I'd at least be happy to have for a little whileโ€”and while my hopes were high for a dreamie, I knew I probably wouldn't find another. Not after finding both Leopold and Dobie in such brief hunts.

...You can probably tell where this is going.

On just my seventh ticket, the man, the myth, the legend himself...

Business kitty.

I didn't think I'd find anyone so early, so I hadn't even changed out of my Mai Mizusaki cosplay yet...

Everybody loves Raymond, as the saying goes, and I am no exception. He's found a forever home in Lostglade, for sure.

Well, my plans for the Adventures in Villager Hunting series of posts were that I would either (a) cover a series of villager hunts until a permanent villager was found, or (b) if no permanent villager was found, but there had been a significant number of other new islanders, then to do a post just for them. While I'm certainly not complaining, this would be a rather short post if I left things off here.
So as a bonus, here's how some of my interior decorating is coming along!

Here's my current bedroom set-up! This was the first room I decorated and this screenshot's a little old, but I've kept this design so far. Some things are definitely subject to change (the wall fan will likely go, and the bed from Luna will probably get replaced), but I'm quite happy with the feel of the room for now.

And here's my recently re-done living room! (As with the bedroom, a few things will probably get switched around later down the line.) Early on, this room was kind of a cluttered mess of random things, but once I had some more furniture options, I finally sat down and decorated it for real. I think it's come along rather nicely!

My love for autumn and spooky season has finally inspired me to finally get some decorating done, and I'm back with some progress made in decorating Lostglade! Some areas are finally getting fleshed out, and I've got plans for others in progress as well.

First off, the Able Sisters shop is no longer beachfront property; they've moved to a proper and hopefully permanent location next to Resident Services, in the midst of a growing market area!

They've also got a nice little garden in some seasonal shades to tend to nowโ€”and they must be doing a wonderful job of it, as these are hardy little plants, without a doubt. They've already survived one attempted drowning by a well-meaning Filbert. He watered them for twenty minutes straight. Twenty.

On the other side of Resident Services is the only slightly relocated Nook's Cranny! They're decorated for the season now as well, though the surrounding scenery and decor might see some changes as the district develops further.

The pianist skeleton is a travelling sort. We might not be able to convince him to stay permanently.

Lily has also made her return to Lostglade with a much fancier and more personalized home, having sufficiently trained in the art of interior design! While Jacques and Tutu may have both moved on during her absence, she's been catching up with old friends and getting along swimmingly with new residents Deirdre and Deli. Here she is, along with a closer view of some of the decoration around Nook's Cranny.

The Museum has moved to a new location as well, though the landscaping is currently very much a work in progress. I've also got a number of plans for the approaching update, and hope to get to work on them soon! Maybe after I can get a storage upgrade or two. There's a growing mannequin army on Lostglade currently, which my villagers say does suit the Halloween season, but that isn't exactly the direction I want to go with things.

Until next time, have a happy Halloween, and a wonderful rest of the autumn season!
