Someone I know got a villager that was from an amiibo , not forced out by an amiibo card. This was an amiibo villager card. Not a villager kicked out by an amiibo.

Instead of getting the villager they wanted, Marshal instead took over his plot. However, Marshal nor the original villager was ever in the game. The next day, Marshal's house said "I moved out". No other villagers will ask to move out either. The plot is glitched.

So basically - do not get villagers from other people who used the amiibo card. The forced out glitch is patched, but trading amiibo villagers isn't.

at this point i'm just asking myself if nintendo will decide to identify and patch the issue or say "amiibo cards? who needs those?" and throw them. i personally haven't run in an issue like this, nor have the people who bought/traded villagers from/with me, regardless if they moved out on their own accord or if i forced them with an amiibo after the latest patch. campsite villagers also work fine with moving in and so do amiibo campers - so i'm literally wondering what could be causing this?

as stupid as it sounds, the amiibo thing seems like an onion. once you take off one layer and identify the issue there, it seems to be that there is more going on on the layer under the first one. did they even test this feature? did they even test their own patch to a bigger extent? who knows, but at this point money on amiibo cards seems wasted and villager trading sounds like no fun.

i'm sorry this happened to your friend - is there any chance they can try to make the amiibo villager move in again and evict the void marshal from his plot?

Considering that Nintendo plans to rerun issues of Amiibo cards, I have a feeling this will get patched out eventually (or so I hope..) because whats the point of rerunning amiibo cards if people can't even use them without a chance of their game being glitched?

Does this mean that if I invite a villager using amiibo to my island they will have this glitch? Or is it only if the amiibo villager that already moved intk my island is adopted by someonelse?

I'm sure this will all be fixed eventually, but the fact it's been such a huge problem is really quite remarkable for a Nintendo game. Really glad I was never going to use Amiibo cards.

that's news to me? but if they actually do, congrats to them, they're not only gonna hopefully save the amiibo market that is daring to kill people's wallet, but also fix this annoying issue.

I have invited 2 villagers to my town via amiibo cards so far and have encountered no issues on my end.

No, it happened when someone traded an amiibo villager. My friend doesn't have amiibo. The person they got the villager from sold the villager they got from amiibo instead of a villager who moved in naturally. I suspect its because my friend doesn't have the amiibo data so the game doesn't know what to do.

You're safe to use amiibos, just don't get amiibo villagers you don't have from other people. Nor should you trade them from now.

Ok. I was nervous for a sec there. I only used amiibos for myself and never planned on trading villagers anyway :D

Yeah my post was a bit confusing so I clarified it a bit. I think people will start selling amiibo villagers (and keep selling them again) so I feel like nintendo should just not let villagers from amiibo cards move. Imagine someone constantly selling Marshall or something lmao. Idk how to get the mods to post a warning in the acnh villager trading forum tho.
