Genuinely curious (and not trying to start a argument), for those who time travel, why do you do it?

(I used to time travel in New Leaf for hybrids, and because I found myself running out of things to do, and just for fun, and just want to hear reason that are pro: time travelling)

I time traveled in the beginning because my copy arrived a day late due to human error and I didn't wanted to miss a day because someone else's mistake. I told myself to play half a day on release date and then half a day on the actual date. I thought that was fair enough.

But other than that I'm not time traveling again, I did it a lot in New Leaf and it just made it feel like a completely different game. I've been trying to play more like I did in Wild World, which was were I just enjoyed the game without worries.

I TTed at the beginning of the game because I was already done with whatever was set for that day and I wanted to keep going to there really was no choice. If I got a villager then I would want to TT so I'd do it. I haven't TTed since there's no need to anyway.

In NL, I did it because I don't like waiting 24 hours for a bush to grow, or hybrids.

Sometimes I do it because I'm bored.

I also do it if I haven't been able to play for whatever reason, to make sure I don't lose any villagers.

i have always tt’ed and new horizons just makes it better to tt to get new offers/bonuses for your daily nook miles and i do it to make building bridges/inclines faster and to get villagers to move out! i still have alot of fun even if i time travel

I TT'ed in new leaf because I had already completed the game one time and had restarted to play with my mom. I didn't care too much about the bugs/insects and stuff. I just wanted to decorate so I'd time travel when I did everything for that day.

i tt because i'm in quarantine currently and sometimes spend 10 hours a day playing it. there is just nothing to do at a certain point - your villagers are annoyed by you, ypu only catch the sea bass, no insects around. that's when i skip a day forward. sometimes to invite villagers over or get terraforming faster. it's an escape for me from the bad reality and fishing just isn't my cup of tea (especially not for 10 hours). i also play in the middle of the night when nothing is open and tarantulas scare me BAD so i just skip forwards a few hours and the next day i skip a few hours back

i don’t always tt, when i do it’s usually bc i’m all set in game and have nothing more i want to do/i’m very eager for the progress. i only limit myself to tting forward a day though, while i like the progress, being forward even a day discomforts me and i want to and usually go back to the present day asap.

Yep, this is my exact reason. I'm largely isolated in my room and am trying to stay calm/distract myself by playing 10+ hours per day. I get bored of fishing/bug catching after a couple hours, so I TT forward a day every 4 hours or so to spice things up a bit.

That said, I just TT'd back to real time so I can enjoy the Easter event along with everyone else. I'm just not going to be able to play as many hours per day until the event is over.

I opened my gate to random people and someone decided to run over all of newly sprouted hybrid flowers and took off with all my fruits, which I specifically told visitors not to do.

I don’t mind if someone did it accidentally but I dont want trolls ruining the game for me, so I TTed to get all my stuff back.

the first time I TT‘ed was, because I has finished about everything I could do that day and didn‘t want to stop playing just yet. at first it was just being curious what each new day brings - knowing that once I‘ll be able to go back to work I won‘t have much time or motivation to play anyway. As of now, I‘m doing it because of hybrids and/or because I ordered some stuff I need asap. Other than that I set my date and time back to the regular one, to enjoy the game and just kind of chill.

I used to TT all the time in new leaf, and it's mainly just impatience I guess
I feel like the game is intended to be more of a, pick it up, do your daily tasks, put it down kind of game. so playing for longer (unless you're like me and love aimlessly wandering around or trading lol) then you run out of stuff to do, as others have said

im still not TTing myself in NH but I do have to admit the wait for certain things such as terraforming and moving buildings etc is pretty gruelling, I can definitely understand where TTers come from.
I want to eventually 100% (or as close as I can get) the game and I'm not sure how easy that'll be without tting at some point, but I'm definitely going to try nonetheless

personally, i time travel because i prefer a faster-paced game. also, i'm not that into catching bugs and fish and after a certain point in the day, that's all there really is to do.

I chose not to time travel in New Horizons and I feel as though it's made the game more casual in a good way. I've always played these games for the decorative aspect of the game but this time around I want to do it all and at a slower pace. I would time travel in New Leaf for items and to construct new things but from now on I'll only be TT'ing to get rid of villagers if I find someone selling one of my dreamies.

I TT'd in New Horizons to unlock terraforming. Now I play day by day.

I haven't TT'd in New Horizons yet. I did in past games and while it does give you that instant gratification, I feel like you get bored faster. I want to play the way I used to in the beginning of my City Folk days and play how the game intended for now rather that TTing all the time like I did in New Leaf.

I TT'd a bit in the Gamecube version so I could get stuff earlier. Ended up ruining my experience and now I never TT. There's a certain joy in having to wait to unlock things. The passage of time is one of the most important aspects of Animal Crossing to me.

I time traveled back in New Leaf on and off. I played the game naturally at first on one file. And then did some time travelling during another playthrough just to unlock things faster. Also to cycle through villagers so I could adopt/give away villagers on here in order to get my favorites. I ended up bored pretty fast though, so I made the decision to play New Horizons at the natural pace.

I TT because I don't have enough time to play a full day every day in real life. I have work and school stuff to do, so instead of playing everyday, I just play as much as I can in one real life day.

I TT because I don’t like playing at night because of tarantulas.

I’ll be out trying to catch an Emperor butterfly and then get killed from a tarantula that was nearby that I didn’t notice.
