You know how when you boot up the game and the title appears, the game will either follow a current villager as they trot along in your town, or the game just pans from one building to the next? Well, sometimes you can see the plot of a new villager during this sequence.
I have found that when I make a new character after seeing where the plot was, it is never in that same spot! So my question is, if I see the plot and like where it is, if I were to log onto my Mayor, would the plot be in the spot I saw in the game's opening menu?
I don't believe it would be in that spot. I'm pretty sure the daily events that are randomized are not determined until you actually begin the game. What's shown on the title screen is just random. I haven't tried it with new villager plots, but I've definitely experienced having seen a camper in my town and then when I started the game, as the mayor, my campsite was empty. Or seeing dig spots that end up not actually being there.
I agree with Hana. Just like when you first start the game, the villagers you see on the title screen aren't really in your town. It's just random, so it would be safer to make a new file than start with the mayor.
This sort of just happened to me today. I saw the spot for the new villager in the sequence (which made sense, since I knew someone was coming in). However, when I loaded into the game normally, the plot for the incoming villager was in a completely different spot--literally halfway across my town map from where it was shown in that opening sequence with one of my villagers. And the odd thing is, the dig spot in the ground that also showed up in that opening remained in the same spot.
No, the plot would not be in the same place when you load up your mayor, unless somehow you were ridiculously lucky. You could see Katrina or Redd's tents in your plaza but when you actually start up the game, they're not there. The game just randomises what appears when it comes to stuff like that.
Thanks for all the replies, I guess this mystery is solved. That is pretty wild. I hope nobody has been fooled into logging into their mayor this way while plot resetting... it's the ol' switcheroo!
