A suggestion for a chat room instead of IRC

Having an IRC client requires people to have the computer they're on to have an IRC client downloaded, and sometimes you go to your friend's who just can't download it for whatever reason. This keeps you from chatting and possibly trading/playing with other people. I know that with things like a service or specific trading hours, you might be at your friend's and can't get things done. Well instead of having an IRC channel, wouldn't it be better to have something like a Xat? A lot of people have Xat names already, and all it takes is changing your name from a default pre-made name. It doesn't need signing up or downloading, and it can go right in the portal for everyone to use.

Just seems like a better idea to me. >_>

IRC is the best chat protocol.

If you have Java, there is a nice little client for you to use on the web, don't need anything like mirc.

My best suggestion would be for you to just use MSn/Live messenger or Trillian or something to talk to other TBTers.

Well the new AC is coming out which will generate activity. A chat in the Portal would be convenient and easy, I don't see why not. It's like you're all afraid of it or something (or at least that's the impression I get).

Well this game has more focus on multiplayer, so there might be this time around.
