About the next AC game...

Do you think, in the next AC game in the main series, you will return to being a villager or stay the mayor?

You'll probably become mayor again because if they finally made a game with you as the mayor, it would be surprising if next game you were not, and unless it's really good they might go back to buying New Leaf for all the things you could do. The only reason they would not do it is if maybe you were mayor for long time and finally stepped down and someone else became mayor, but that would be surprising. But for that it might be cool if you could see a portrait of a human character because he was the last mayor, just like the tortimer picture in your office.

They'd definitely make you the mayor at the very least, but you may-or never know! (Okay, that was a terrible pun. Sorry.)
But seriously, they could make you the president in the next game. The only game I know where you become president is Road Trip Adventure (also known as Everywhere Road Trip and Choro Q HG2) but that's only at the end of the game and it's a mere title in that game so it doesn't grant you any presidential powers. Road Trip Adventure is pretty similar to Animal Crossing but it's not the same exact genre (both games are about adventure, but AC is life simulations and RTA is racing). Though I can see how it would work in Animal Crossing.

You never know! But most likely i think we'll still be the mayor, because how would the game even be fun if you're a villager like, probably the most fun part about the game is being able to customize your town, rule over the world AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHA.. Just kidding, XD But it'll most likely be very boring just being a villager.

I'm hoping to stay as a mayor. I loved customizing my town with the public work projects. Though, I don't know what I would really do with the bells I wouldn't be spending if I went back to being just a villager...

There's no telling, they might just give you the option to choose. What I really want from an Animal Crossing game, preferably the next one, is the option and customizability of being an animal villager. That'd be neat.

You mean like play as an animal instead of a human? That's what I really want as well. I would be a cat. Also, if you choose to be an animal you shouldn't automatically become a villager and instead get the choice of being a villager or the mayor (Tortimer's an animal and he was the mayor until New Leaf so it's not like animals can't be the mayor).
