Instead of posting one really long wishlist of things that I would like to see, I'm just going to occasionally post (cause I don't want it to look like spam) parts of it, since some of them are not really concrete anyway. But anyway...

The other day Katie was visiting my town. This was actually the first time I've ever seen this happen. She wanted me to take her to another town, but no one on my 3DS friends list was online. At that time, and no offense to this forum, I wasn't willing to make a post and wait over two hours for someone to open their gates for me. So I told her I had errands and left her all alone. :(

The point is, what I'd like to see is an improvement to online multiplayer. You should be able to go to a random town that has their gates open to the public. You would be able to choose if you want it open only to friends or to anyone. It would be a good way to meet new friends to play the game without having to use external sites like this one. Now I realize that this does raise a bit of concern, more specifically griefers and hackers. A simple way to rectify this though is to have a "safe mode" for public hosting. For example, guests wouldn't be able to pick up or drop items or destroy flowers. And if hackers could somehow rectify this, then Nintendo will really just need to start dropping the hammer.

Another cool idea I had recently would be to have local split-screen multiplayer (on one Switch). I feel that it would create new and fun opportunities for the game if you could play with your friends and family at the same time. I know it's a little farfetched, but I think it would be fun.

would there even be any point to going to another person's town when you're locked out of doing anything pretty much?

As much as opening your town's gate to the open public would be fun, it is a recipe for disaster. Just letting that one random arse will ruin everything. So as much as I think it would be neat, I'm definitely against it as a feature.

It would still be good for socialization, buying and selling items, and seeing other towns (though that's what dream addresses are for), but hopefully, by doing this they could also implement a new trade system as others have mentioned before, sort of like an MMORPG trade system, so trades would be safe as well.

That's why they would have to implement a safe mode so stuff like that won't happen. But at the very least, they should add a social hub similar to Club Tortimer where you can make new Switch friends and then visit their towns afterward.

I wouldn't be surprised if AC Switch implements the Market Box feature from Pocket Camp. It would allow you to easily sell / trade items with other players around the world, without needing them to come to your town.

I like this idea a lot!

I think a way of at least trading items or selling them to other people would probably be a better things to do rather than letting random people into your village, it definitely sounds like a fun idea that way you can play with more people maybe instead of a safe mode you as a host could decide what things a visitor can do like if they can (shake trees, or pick up stuff) A whole menu customization to decide what they can and can't do would be imo a better way to implement this that way you can interact with more people
