adopting sanrio villagers!

So I know it's impossible to ask them to move in from the RV if you don't own their cards, but I was wondering if you could put them in boxes for someone to pick them up?
They're regular villagers after all, so asking them to leave by moving in another amiibo could work wouldn't it?

I really want to adopt Chelsea to complete my Deer Town so I was just wondering hehe

I'm not sure if you can. At the very least, I pretty sure that Zelda related characters can't be moved into someone else's town even if they're in boxes.

But my girlfriend said she might test to see if it is possible for you with her two copies, since she wants to shuffle people around her towns.
