A feature I would really love to see is, after completely upgrading your island Isabelle appears and tells you that Tom Nook has acquired a new bigger island that needs to be worked and she gives you the option to stay on your current island or move to the new island and restart with a lot more land.

I feel like that would defeat the purpose of the game itself, since you're basically restarting it all, just with more land.

I'd like the idea of owning more than one island, and more villagers to match or just one really big island with a lot of sections you can go exploring, but I don't think either happen.

I don't like the idea of having to restart your town in order to have a larger island. Why not just have the larger island to start with? This would be one of the most unpopular things in all of Animal Crossing, since people will be rightfully annoyed at having to delete their town just to advance further.

Unless I misunderstood your point, but "restart" sounds like deletion to me.

I wouldn't mind having a little side area/island to take care of, kind of like the island or the campground in New Leaf, but I think it would be too much to start over again or work on a whole other island. I had an extra town in new lead but that was basically just for cycling and growing hybrids, I didn't put the time and effort into making it wonderful like I did my original town.

In pocket camp there is the cabin or whatever (I javent played it in a while) so it could be kinda nice to have a side area you can decorate. Kind of like the campsite in new leaf.

Dont really want to restart after completing my island though haha

I do like the idea of unlocking more land, but it shouldn’t be at the expense of our first Island. Having an additional one to work on would be brilliant—just not if it’s a replacement.

In my mind, our town should feel like a home, not a development project to move on from once it’s complete.

I'd rather keep to one island, and have another where shops are accessible via boat or sea plane.

Bah, I was trying to come up with an idea that worked around the fact that we can only have 1 island and we already know how big the island will be. Those things will likely not be changing considering its been 3 months since they were introduced and they only have 6 months till release.

Our old towns never increased in size. Why the problem with one island?

As long as there are other activities in other places you can travel to, like Tortimer Island, I'll be content.

I dont have an issue with one island, but from all the messages boards I have been on, theirs always a group of people complaining about the size of the island. People also DO have a problem with the one island considering it will be 1 island for all users who have accounts on the same switch. So if you start the game on one account and then your brother or sister make another account on the same switch, both players will be forced to have their tents on the same island from my understanding.

Honestly, I can live with the fact to only have one island. It will be probably already time consuming
enough to taking care of one island and building up everything on it, to have then dealing with another
island would be too stressful, at least for me. Besides, do we really know already how big the island will
be at the end? I mean, we don't really saw a fully developed island map yet. What we saw so far didn't
show the complete thing. So I would wait till they show us more about the island and it's size. And who
knows? Maybe they giving us this time so much freedom to even expanding the island if you need more
space (at least that's a feature I would really welcome).

I don't mind so much about just having one main island, but what might be cool is if you could potentially unlock other smaller islands or areas to decorate and customise. So you could build a bridge over to another island and then that becomes another part of your town. But I don't know if they would actually implement that...

I was just about to type this up and add it to the conversation, but you got there before me.
I don't think I would ever actually have a desire for this in-game unless the island didn't feel large enough in the first place. I hope the theories online about map size are correct. New Leaf was just too small.

Not all people have a problem with one island. I don't. I also don't own a switch.

I wouldn't have the time for multiple islands and I've seen many other people post the same thing.

I think the island is big enough already anyway. Besides, getting a new, bigger island after "completing" the first island, wouldn't help those people who have to share a Switch.

This might sound weird to even suggest, as everyone mostly seems to want bigger everything, but it would be kinda neat if there were some variation in island size. I mean, realistically, not every island is identically the same size, and it would give the few people who don't want to keep up with as much space an option to go smaller. Idk, I'm sure it's never gonna be a thing, but I think that would be kind of neat. Could also be like the intro to New Leaf, where instead of just offering you 4 maps, they could be like "what size island would you like?" And them show you what each looks like before choosing.
