The Chronicles and Development of Akæri Island

Island Name: Akæri

Island Rep Name: Cyku
Native Fruit: Apple
Native Flower: Tulip

What's the story of this newly born island? Well, I started playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons on April, I've bee playing for more than a month, but then I got pretty discouraged - it turned out that I didn't like the river exits, the airport color, native fruit... I had made some mistakes in the beginnings and began to regret them. And so I stopped playing. Today I felt like resetting and finally getting back to playing with some new rules. Yeah, I feel sorry for my lost mile tickets and, what's more important, some Celeste or wedding event (or other events) items, I achieved a lot back then so building up my wishlist from zero is going to hurt, but I feel like I'm going to play longer and better this time. I mean, I have to. I've been resetting the initial gameplay for a whole day before I decided that I accept my island design.
So what are the rules of my game on Akæri?

Rules of Akaeri:
1. No Time Travelling

I wasn't using TT on my previous island, still, I decided that I will continue sticking to that on Akæri
2. No selling or buying turnips anywhere else than on Akæri
Exchanging items, visiting for meteor showers and using the rest of the online features + using the turnip prophet - it's fine, but nothing else
3. No selling or buying villagers
I will only get villagers by island hopping
4. No rush

The origins of name "Akæri":
It's got a few meanings - the first is a Japanese word "Akari" which means "light". The æ is a symbol of daemons - I totally changed the idea and I don't feel like explaining it, so shortly - for me the letter means that Akæri is under protection of a spirit. Free, wandering (like air) spirit, to be exact - aeri sounds to me like something connected with air. All of those connected lead us to the conclusion that the island is protected by a free spirit of light... By which I mean my Island Representative, as who anyone sees the caring spirit. She took the form of a human to be as close to the island and its residents as possible.

Part One: The Beginnings
Many, many years, decades and centuries ago, the Earth was filled not only with people, but also another beings - the Spirits. The Spirits were bound to nature, and as nature was in charge back then - they were caressing the land and the water living, helping early humans live in harmony with nature, making both sides get some benefits. But the technology started to play a major part in the world and so the Spirits began to fade, slowly becoming free, not having any use in taking care of people. Sometimes they were wandering on their own or staying on forgotten, small islands... And so Cyku, one of those Spirits, lived on Akæri - until Tom Nook came up with an island getaway. Some people finally appeared on Cyku's island and she was more than happy to finally have the opportunity to help the island grow fully. That's why she changed into a human figure, only slightly looking like some kind of ghost...

And so the Tom Nook, Timmy, Tommy, Plucky and Rod took Cyku as one of the getaway participants. Akæri was a beautiful island full of apple trees, clear water and many creatures, so the first evening on the island came quickly, preluded by gathering branches for the campfire and some apples for beverages, not to mention the work was mostly done by Cyku. The whole group ended the first day with a full-night little party.

The next day Cyku woke up... in the evening. Well, you can't blame a little Spirit for getting tired after becoming a human and taking care of inhabitants of the island for the first time from who knows. A lot of work waited for her, especially after being convinced to take a loan for upgrading her small tent to a cosy, yet more comfortable house.

As you can see on the left, Cyku wasn't wasting any time to help Blathers get on the island. As Tom Nook mentioned, the owl was really interested in the fish and even bugs - though those were the bane of his existence. And not long after he got on Akæri, the Spirit and the Owl managed to get enough creatures to finally open a museum on the island. Yay!

It wasn't enough for Cyku though! There were also Timmy and Tommy - the twins wanted to open a shop on Akæri and the Spirit didn't hesitate for a moment, she really wanted to help them. She felt the happiness about the island growing and getting some buildings for the comfort of its inhabitants. What's more, Plucky and Rod also wanted to help a bit with getting the shop done. It didn't take long for the group to gather all the needed materials.

As the Dodo Airport was already open, Cyku took the free Nook Miles Ticket from Tom Nook and went on a mystery island trip with the plan of getting some additional materials for the island. She didn't only find the materials, but also Dizzy - a lazy elephant who seemed eager to join Akæri community as soon as possible. That concluded the flight.

And that's mostly everything about the beginnings of the Akæri. I'm going to write here once a few days or when I have something special to describe. It's really fun to think about backstories for Cyku and the whole island, but it's also pretty demanding to use the right words when I want to get on the paper... or on the post, what I have in my head - I hope I'll keep up with it. You're more than welcome to comment, I'll also gladly visit your islands for some inspiration! Have a good day~
