Now that I've started collecting series 5 I've opened "pandora's box" and want to start collecting previous series... I prefer unopened/new packs because of the excitement of "unboxing" so to speak.... How do people usually go about snagging them? Just check sites like Target, Walmart, BB, Amazon, etc? or are sites like ebay typically the best way to acquire them? I will not pay scalper prices. Thanks!

I know the feeling. When I got my Sanrio cards I wanted to find more. Was able to get two packs each of the 1-4 when target had them in the summer. Now I just keep looking at target, Walmart, and GameStop to see if they get any more in.

Saaaame feeling and same problem, the worst part is that i just need 2 cards to finish my collection for series 5 😩

Welcome to the world of collecting! It's the Willy Wonka feeling! Once upon a time, you could get AC packs at Toys 'R' Us 😱

I started in 2016 when you could find Series 1-4 on store shelves. Heck, even Welcome Amiibo cards were for a few weeks in December 2016. I spent soooo much money but it helped me get duplicates to start get into trading. No regrets now!

Unless there's been a restock of the older series that I haven't heard about, I think you may not have any other choice if you want those cards. I haven't seen Animal Crossing amiibo cards in stock anywhere for retail price in a long time--since the last big reprint, I believe. But maybe, if the series 5 cards are popular enough, Nintendo will reprint the older ones again.

But maybe I'm just out of the loop, and the older cards are available for retail price somewhere I haven't thought to look.
(I'd love to know where that is, if it exists, incidentally. XD)

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but in the past year, I think they've rereleased a few or most of the past series. I know Welcome Amiibo RV cards haven't been rereleased, though.

Ebay is always going to be more expensive so you definitely want to stick to the main retailers if you're just looking to acquire a bunch of cards. If you are looking for a specific card/villager though, it can be easier to buy the individual card off eBay (even if its price is inflated).

Pretty sure there’s talks of another amiibo restock of all series now that the update is out. Don’t ever pay scalpers.
