My switch lite needed repairs for drift, and I've been dissatisfied with my island for some time (and this was after flattening it and remodeling in August). It had gotten to the point where I wouldn't get on for weeks, and then when I did, I would wander aimlessly for half an hour then get back off. So I decided to use the repair as an excuse to start over.

My island is now AmbleDowns. I saved my bells and some items from my previous island (thanks to a family member who generously let me use their island for storage). I will be taking it slow, no rushing to get to 5 stars. Instead, I will be taking my time, going section by section and really playing around with different ideas.

So far I have the museum, nooks, ables and upgraded resident services. Isabelle keeps urging me to add more residents, but I think I'm going to focus on breeding flowers and catching fish/bugs for awhile before I move anyone else in.

I started breeding roses today. Just a few in front of resident services. I really want to make the entrance/resident services area more suburban. I want a rose garden and park area inspired by the city park in a town I used to live in. It was next door to a nursing home, and residents often visited the rose garden. I remember being fascinated by the variegated breeds as a kid-wish we could acheive that in game, it would be gorgeous.

I also want to keep Nooks, Ables and maybe the museum near resident services. I'm thinking the bottom middle island of the map will be like a little suburban downtown area.

Started playing a round with setting up the playground today:

Still wamt to add some tire toys, but its a good start. Just this area brpught me from 2 to 3 stars, so KK should be here tomorrow. Have been thinking of trying to track down some sort of cement edge to add to the sand path to try to create a large sand pit.

Ok-I've filled all my plots for now-figure might as well get it over with. Limited myself to no more than 4 NMTs per plot (arbitrarily decided by how many were in the 1st stack I grabbed). The last trip I got all chickens, lol.

I've got: Kevin, Anchovy, Tutu, Lucy, Quillson, Lucha, Fang, Marina, Erik, Egbert. There was an Uchi monkey but she bailed like a week in.

I'm really enjoying gardening. Actually taking the time to deliberately breed flowers is new to me. I've been using the layouts on Github by @yuecrossing and this Hybrid Guide video by DazzaBound I found on YT: HYBRID GUIDE.

So far, I've only done roses, but I'm at the 2nd to last stage for blue roses, amd last stage for gold (and I've got all the other colors).

Oh, my neglected native mums bred some purples, so I've isolated those to clone. Not sure if they came from the right set up to make green, though, so I might stick em together and see if I get any greens, but I'm not counting on it.
