I'd have to say I am a little skeptical on it. I started watching season five, and I was really disappointed in it.
Knowing me I'll probably end up watching it once it comes onto DVD, unless I find a stream for it. I don't have a lot of hopes for it though.

Watching it right now. It's showing promise, so I guess we'll see how it ends up.
Just watched it. Obviously not gonna spoil it for anyone, but it was very different, unexpected, and very good. I was captivated.
One thing I will say is that it's a lot scarier than the last season. I felt like the last season was a little more humorous and basically thrived on gore, but this one is a lot more serious and it's legitimately scary to me.

I watched it and really liked it! I was a little iffy on the format (the interviews/reenactments) but it grew on me and it's a pretty unique concept. the premiere was actually SCARY and reminded me of earlier seasons. hotel was terrible and I stopped watching mid season. freak show was also pretty bad (not as bad as hotel). the roanoke colony is such an interesting/creepy theme and I'm pleasantly surprised with everything so far c:

it is very different form the last 5 seasons but i like how they did that i cant wait for next Wednesday!!!!

Agreed. Hotel didn't even feel like AHS to me because it didn't feel scary or creepy at all.
Happy with the theme they chose and ep 1 was pretty interesting. Gave me a scare with the driving scene >___>

I'm gonna like skip this whole thread, in case of spoilers. I missed the premier, sadly. The trailers for this season look great, but I feel so bad for not being committed to the show. I like, skipped all of Hotel. There was nothing that I disliked about it, but for some reason, it just didn't excite me enough that I watched it religiously like I did every other season of AHS. I will watch Hotel one day though. But I'm gonna put it off. Maybe watch it in between episodes of this season. >>

ugh imo hotel sux so badly. it was the only season I didn't watch all the way through. there was NO horror and it was all weird perverted gore scenes and a bunch of shock value crap. I didn't like the storyline, either. the characters were terrible. freak show wasn't a good season but it was ten times better compared to hotel. anyways, I really liked the premiere of this new season and think you will enjoy it

Oooh Season one has been one of my all time faves. I loved the idea for freak show, but I think it could've been executed better. I actually wasn't very crazy about Coven either. Asylum and whatever the name of season one was, were my favorites I think... The gay ghosts in the house in season one were literally the best

the first season is "murder house". yesss omg lol I forgot about the gay ghosts. remember how one of them really loved halloween and decorated with lots of cool halloween decor? I actually liked coven but the ending was a little...lame

Yesssssss, I love that they loved Halloween so much! There wasn't anything I disliked about Coven tbh, just not enough that made me go "WOOOOH". I for one actually liked the ending lol. Idk what it was about it, I guess it just seemed to classy and dignified compared to how the rest of the season seemed kind of slobbish? Not the show itself, but it's characters didn't seem very graceful, yet at the end I feel like they got their crap together. I liked that.
