Can someone explain these to me, and how I can use them to get Kody LOL

Sorry for making a thread about it but my research skills are failing me rn

The day after the campsite is done, there should be an option through the ABD to use the Amiibo card.

When you get your campsite in New Horizons, there will be a villager there already. (A day after you make it, probably) That villager will be smug. You will have to move them in. After that, you will be able to use the Nook Terminal and scan your amiibo card in! They'll get invited into your campsite and will ask you to do something for them but you will not be able to move them in because they say they'll come back. After three days of inviting them, they usually say yes to move to your town. This is all assuming you have an empty plot on your island.
If you have 10 villagers, you'll be able to use the amiibo card to kick one of your existing villagers out almost instantly, I think? I'm not sure about the 10 villager part .. I heard there's also a glitch going around?

You'll need Kody's Amiibo card to invite him to your town. You must have the campsite open and an open plot or 10 villagers. You then go to the Nook Stop machine in town hall and use it to invite an Amiibo villager to your campsite. Then you have to invite them 3 days in a row, crafting a DIY item for them each day. On the 3rd day you can invite them to move in, if you have 10 villagers then you can choose to kick out a villager of your choice.

I hope this answers your question!

Amiibo cards are collectible cards you purchase. They were originally sold in packs with random cards of villagers but you can find the individual villager cards resold on Ebay/Etsy as well as functional fan made cards that work.

If you have a card, you can use it with your switch to scan the card which will bring that villager into your campsite when it's unlocked. You have to scan them in 3 days and craft an item each time for them before they'll agree to move in your town. If your town is full, they can kick someone of your choosing out and take their plot.

amiibo cards came out with amiibo festival as a way of bringing ur favorite villagers into the game. they came in packs of i think 4-5, with 4 series. this official site (click the words its a link) shows all the villagers per series

a few years into animal crossing new leaf, there was an update to the game that allowed u to use amiibo cards to "spawn" villagers from the amiibo cards into ur game, and thru that u could invite them to ur town. this update also released another series of amiibo cards called welcome amiibo that brought back 50 villagers from older games that didnt make the cut into new leaf. along with new villagers, this update also brought new furniture.

in new horizons, the amiibo cards work much the same. u use them to spawn in a villager. they'll only work after uve built ur campsite and invited the first villager that shows up to ur island. after that, spawning in a villager with amiibo cards will place them in the campsite. theyll ask you to do some tasks, and i believe ppl said u have to spawn them into ur campsite 3 times and complete their tasks 3 times before theyll move into ur town.

to get kody u have to have his amiibo card (or u could get him from someone else's town). if u dont have one, i imagine that the amiibo cards will be reissued for release soon since they function in new horizons. he shows up in the series 3 packs, so u could exclusively buy those for him. i also have him in my town, and if he asks to move id be willing to let u snatch him from me.

Where? ebay haha

ebay and amazon are sites that may have some. honestly, u can get "homemade" ones on etsy. they aren't official nintendo merchandise, people make them themselves. i dont know if they still work with this game, but they worked with new leaf. they're cheaper than the real deal, and are technically in endless supply. u could also technically make ur own, but i dont know how and i feel like talking about this isn't necessarily a smart idea. but its an option and its out there somewhere.
