Amiibo characters can't move in?

So today my required campsite villager moved in (Marshal). So I built another plot to get my amiibo character, Gayle, to move in. I went to two Nook miles islands to try and find her before I gave up. I came back and invited her via Amiibo. She is in my campsite and I asked her to move in but she won't move in. I checked the spot I saved for her and Francine has apparently reserved the spot. I don't even know where she came from? I bought another plot but Gayle still won't move in. Anything I'm doing wrong?

It takes 3 days to move them in. You need two more days of favors.

You have to have the amiibo visit three different days and craft them something each day I think!

That's correct! Ping them in with the amiibo card for 3 days in a row. Each day, invite them to move onto your island when prompted to (even if they decline), and each day, craft what they ask for and bring it to them. On the 3rd day, they will agree to move in, so have an empty plot ready~

You can also make villagers move out using amiibo if you reached the max (but there is the whole amiibo glitch with trading villagers to deal with(

You can take Gayle from my island if you'd like. Not sure how it works, but if possible to do, I'm cool with it.
