Amiibo figures and HHD?

This is a dumb question but do the new amiibo figures work with happy home designer? I thought I saw someone day they do but I can't find any proof to back it up.

I can't find it but I do know what you're talking about, someone said {who had tested it themself} that if you scan the amiibo it would read just like the card would. So Cyrus, who doesn't have a card yet, it would be a way to decorate his house instead of having to wait for series 3/4 NPCs if that makes sense!

Yeah! That's what I thought I'd read. I kind of want the amiibo for decoration so I'll have to test this out and I'll let you all know! I haven't figured out yet how to read the SP cards to decorate their homes directly yet lol! But I haven't really tried either

Yeah, they do. I scanned Isabelle and Digby, and they worked fine.

Not a dumb question; I'm glad you asked. I've been googling for some answers about this too and saw a few threads that answered question, but I didn't bookmark any of them ><.

Thanks, Emolga for confirming that they work. I was hoping that the amiibos would function with HHD or at the very least, have an exclusive item to load into the game; I wasn't planning on collecting the amiibo figurines, but I gave in and picked out a few for Christmas for my mom to get. .

Im glad this has its own thread then! I wasnt sure if they would work either but it makes sense that they do! This is exciting because i love Cyrus and Reese!

I put a Amiibo figure of Tom Nook on my NFC reader, and it worked perfectly.

I designed Cyrus and Reese house last week using the figures.
Nice we don't have to wait for their cards. Designed the first floor and than went back the next day to add two more rooms.
Cyrus work shop is in the basement.

Wished the game would allow a bigger house when 2 people live there. 4 rooms would be nice.
