Animal Crossing: City Folk too similar?

According to IGN and 1UP Hands-on previews of Animal Crossing: City Folk they both feel that the game is too similar to the Gamecube and DS versions. This does concern me a bit but what are your thoughts?

It's too similar to Wild World, I think. That's for sure. And, yeah, I don't really mind all that much...but I would prefer it was similar to the original AC instead...assuming it had to be similar to one of the two.

You have to wonder if that'll feel like the new features in Wild World.

We were all thinking Wild World would be amazing with "all this new stuff" and it looked like there was a ton, but most of it just kinda blended in, didn't do anything to make the game better.

They got tons of sales though, so that kinda sent them the wrong message.

Bee's don't head straight for you this time, and, thankfully, you can select more than one item at a time in your inventory.

I've noticed birds throughout the village, maybe there are new collections... who knows.

I've seen mushrooms growing in some videos... I think you might be able to grow more plants in this one. Lets hope at least. If they're going to make me water every freaking one of them I better at least be able to grow some cool ones.

I hope Gulliver is on the beach like he used to be, having him hover over my town randomly one night just doesn't work out for me... I never got him down once.

Did they succeed with that on GTS on D/P with hacked Pokemon? If so, hopefully it'll work in City Folk.
My guess is the auction house might filter items as legit or hacked.

Yeah, Im more of a traditional guy. In Mario Kart Wii, Baby Luigi, Waluigi and Wario/Dry Bowser are for me, and rarely use Miis.
I think it wont change here, unless we all, like, say "THIS.. IS.. SMASHVILLLLEE!" and be Leonidas killing Tangy with nets.

One of the very small features I hope is in is more letters in your town name. That way I can call it Smashville.

Now, keep in mind that I haven't seen these videos, and I'm not the biggest AC fan.

The whole 'city' aspect of the game seems like something that they could easily downplay, and seems like something that sounds better than it actually is. Now, I obviously hope that that isn't the case, but...I'm optimistically sceptical.

Does this game have the exact same soundtrack of Wild World? It really sounds like it does...

I think it sounds a lot more like the gamecube AC.

I hope the soundtrack isn't the same! I didn't notice it, but man... That would suck if it was...

I, personally, have high hopes for AC:CF. I mean... The thing with your Mii's faces on your character... That's a little.... Scary... But everything looks good. I like the idea of the WiiSpeak. The city looks promising too, but... I'm not one to jump to hasty conclusions.

Just gotta keep hoping! ^^

As harsh and ignorant this may sound I'm actually expecting this to be some kind of warped AC:ww with extra tabasco. and yet, Im very excited.

Though, it's kind of a let-down knowing the music might be the same.
