hi there, my daughter has the game Animal Crossing - Let's Go To The City - and has banned my son playing it (he annoyed her) so he bought his own version of the game but is using it on the same Wii console.

when he puts his disc in he ends up my daughter's city and wants his own city. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks, Samboz

The game is saved on the console, that means one save per console. So you`d need a second Wii console. If you`d have two consoles you would only need one disc, technically.( With two disc you can visit each other`s town though.)

For most Wii games, it's possible to transfer save files to an SD card. Unfortunately, since Animal Crossing features Wi-Fi play, it's not possible to do this (rationale being that most games with wi-fi play are competitive so this would facilitate hacking and cheating) without enabling the Wii to run Homebrewed (amateur-made) software. The Savegame Extractor and Savegame Installer apps on the Homebrew channel should allow you to transfer Animal Crossing saves to and from an SD card, letting you switch towns.

Whatever your decision, it's best to return the second copy of the game unless you plan to purchase a second Wii.

You can't move a town, or copy a town, only way to play a different town in the same household is to get a second Wii. Sucks that the memory won't let you move- not sure why, but that's the way it is. At least count yourself lucky, my originally Wii bit the dust, and since you can't copy the town, all my town from 2008 to 2014 was lost- POOF! Wii fried, all my City Folk data gone in a heartbeat. Stupid non-copy rule!!!

It's ALWAYS been that way. You've never been able to copy towns from the start. The GameCube won't allow it, the Wii won't allow it, the 3DS won't allow it (SD card versions), I read none of the cartridge versions will either- like if you copy your town in a device that can copy RAM, the new game won't recognize it. Not sure how that's technologically possibly, but we're talking about a Japanese company.

If you have a Wii U you can play it on that :). I have two towns on the same disc thanks to this.

You could either buy another Wii console or find a way to get Animal Crossing-City Folk. It's identical to Animal Crossing-Let's Go To The City, but I think it's the American version of it. If you live in Australia or the UK thought it might be hard to get...so it's best to get another Wii console.
