Just thought it would be awesome to have a place where we can share all of our LGBT+ (family friendly please) experiences, we have had with this series.

I will start.

I didn't know I am a trans girl back when New Leaf came out on the Nintendo 3DS, so I played as a boy character named Z-Dude, and a year or so after the game released I remember experimenting with the clothing in the game. I would wear a ton of dresses, skirts, and even have the female hair styles a lot. It really helped me realize that I really do feel more comfortable wearing clothing like that, and so shortly after that I started doing the same thing IRL. I tried on a bunch of dresses, skirts, and feminine tops IRL, and I really did love it. I was also in high school at the time, and FAILING pretty much all of my classes, so allowing me the freedom to pretty much be myself in-game was a god-send during those times. <3

And now with New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch... I am able to be myself (I just wish we could choose what pronouns the villagers call us... I am so tired of my villagers using they/them pronouns for me when I prefer she/her. I also hope that in the next installment that allow the player to change their name in-game, since there are still players who maybe experimenting with what they want to be called, and having the ability to freely change your name would really allow for greater expression of self.) But other than that I do find it to be WAY more open and better than New Leaf and other games in the series.

I really do appreciate the series, and I am thankful for helping me through a very stressful time in my life.

What are your experiences? Share them, and let's appreciate Animal Crossing for what it did for us~ =^w^=
