Question time! Apparently, AC Plaza is getting taken down from the eShop right before Christmas. And, I'm getting a Wii U for Christmas. I hear that it'll be practically useless after the internet for it is cut, but supposedly there are a few offline features that include chatting with villagers(?) What I'm asking is if these offline features are anything to write home about, and if I should ask for my Wii U before Christmas, therefore spoiling my Christmas day hype.

Meh, it's basically an alternative version of posting to Miiverse.
Hell, it's basically where most of the Japanese players post their stuff to.

Though it's cute to see the villagers in HD woooo!

I don't really know anything about how it works, tbh. Like, how are the villagers... presented? Like, how are they there?

They're just kind of... there. The Plaza randomly selects lots of villagers (50, I think? Maybe more, I don't know the exact number but it's a lot) and they randomly change throughout the day. You can click on them to hear quotes from that character, or see Miiverse posts that reference the selected character. You can favorite up to 10 of them from the plaza and they'll stay in the plaza as long as you have them faved. I don't know how much of it will remain once it's offline. It's mostly novelty but if you have a Wii U, might as well play with it before it goes. It's cool seeing all your favorite villagers and characters in HD.

Not with all the Isabelle lovers. There is a rating about who you would trust your secrets to. Isabelle is first place.

Ah, probably not worth ruining christmas-day-joy over. I feel like I'll regret it later, though.

The only reason you will regret it is because you never saw first hand what it was like. You're really not missing anything at all. You'll still have Miiverse and it was mostly just 'a different skin' for Miiverse.

I've used it once properly and 95% of the fun was "oh, the villagers look great in HD". If Animal Crossing U comes out then you'll get to see that anyway.

Isabelle is winning all polls, both good and bad, and it's getting a bit annoying. The final vote I did was voting for a horse villager when the question asked who could run the fastest, and of course Isabelle beat everyone. Sure, a shih tzu could beat a horse in real life, no problem! The only big thing is posting pics, but a good 90% of people on it are from Japan, so if you don't know Japanese, those jokes are going to fly right over your head. It's a good app if you're a huge AC fan, otherwise, wait until the Wii U gets a game to invest your time into.

Yeah, that's an odd thing about the Plaza. (Other than the weird poll stuff)

Most of the people there are Japanese, and I could assume is that they don't have a Miiverse for New Leaf in their community.
Which is odd since it's one of the most popular 3DS games out there, but it actually does let the Animal Crossing Plaza go into use. Especially the fantastic art there, going to miss it. ; ^ ;

To be fair, I've never seen any of the other villagers run.

But Isabelle has an adorable run...Therefore she's the fastest.
