Animal crossing tumblrs!

I used to have one, so I'll give you this advice: Be careful. A lot of people in that community are nice and don't cause a lot of problems, but there are still quite a number of people who will be rude and hateful for almost entirely no reason. When Blanca came around for April Fool's Day, there was a huge argument about their gender, and there was a constant debate about Gracie's gender even though their gender has been different depending on the region you bought your game from.

A lot of people are racist and homophobic, and I guess if that doesn't bother you, go for it, but my advice is to really, truly be careful who you talk to because a lot of the people in that community are nice but just as many are hateful and rude and will ultimately make playing the game a hassle. I stopped playing for several months because the community on Tumblr was just so hateful. The community on TBT has proved to be much, much nicer.

EDIT: Not to mention, there are several gossip blogs centered around ACNL players, and you WILL end up there at some point. Everyone does, and it's never nice.

Yeah, that's what I've heard. It makes me sad, but it seems like that's how it's turning out in every community in tumblr. I appreciate you warning me, though.

You're welcome. And you're right -- that IS mostly every community on Tumblr. I actually left my personal blog yesterday (I kept the blog up because if I ever want to look back at it, I'll know it's there) because it just became too much to handle and people were getting so ridiculous.

So, like I said, be careful! Best of luck!

My tumblr is in my signature. I use my tumblr to display my clothing designs, helpful tips, arts and dream suite adventures.
Some times I'll reblog arts by other people, and other people's guides.

wow seriously??? i know about the gossip blogs and the whole thing about gracie's gender but i never heard the thing about blanca and their gender? i have a tumblr blog myself and i reblog and post random things but some of it is animal crossing and i've had animal crossing giveaways and some ac bloggers are following me, but i had noooooooo idea there was this much crap in the fandom. though i already knew this fandom was kinda bad anyways

Yeah, it's really bad depending on which blogs you follow. As someone who is open to different gender expressions, it was really difficult for me to be in the community because there was always someone saying, "(Villager)'s name is BLUE when they talk! They MUST be a boy!" which only perpetuates the idea that there are only two genders and people aren't allowed to detour from the gender expression that they're expected to have, depending on their assigned sex. Anyway, that was mostly why I left. There's a lot of racism, a lot of homophobia, and a lot of useless drama that I personally haven't found duplicated here on TBT.

OP, don't read what I've said and immediately assume your experience with Tumblr will be bad, because it probably won't be. But just be aware of the kinds of people that are in that community. Don't be afraid to unfollow someone if they make you uncomfortable.

guess i'm just following the ones without most of the drama going on lol, though back when everyone was making twitter accounts of animal crossing characters some people ac bloggers hated it and others loved it and it was pretty........interesting
that and i remember when acnlfriendzone had drama going on, i saw it everywhere! now they have a different person (or different people idk) running it. does anybody remember when that happened?
anways those were closest things to drama i've seen on my dash about the ac stuff (except for the hate people get on animal crossing confession blogs), though i think back when i didnt have a tumblr i heard some stuff about the gracie thing.
i haven't really heard about too much homophobia or racism in the ac fandom on tumblr though
(unless if you're talking about other fandoms or whatever on tumblr when it comes to homophobia or racism)

The AC twitter is still going on, actually! Although there are a lot less people on it now than when it started. And most of the tumblr comm has forgotten about it since there hasn't been any like, hate or anything recently. (That I've seen, anyway)
