Animal Crossing Wii U...

A lot of people on here seem to feel that the next AC game will inevitably be for the Wii U. Why is that?

For me personally, there is honestly nothing I want less than a Wii U AC game. As someone who came to the series with ACNL, almost the whole draw of the game is as a portable zen garden I can have with me any time, anywhere. I think if the next title were to be announced on Wii U, I'd stick to ACNL. Does anyone else feel the same?

I don't know, I think that it would be cool to have an Animal Crossing game for the Wii U, but I also like Animal Crossing New Leaf, so I am not sure.

Animal Crossing has started on a console and while not many people enjoy it being on a console, honestly I think it benefit the series if they will just add more stuff to the game to make it different from the previous one.

Animal Crossing generally always having one game per system since it first debuted on the N64 is a pretty big part of it.

Cube Crossing is an odd exception, since our Animal Crossing was basically taking and heavily modifying the Japanese version of Doubutsu no Mori+. Then e+ was Japan taking our Animal Crossing, translating it back to Japanese, and adding in even more stuff.


And no, I'm not counting Happy Home Designer as a main Animal Crossing title.

The previous games went:

Console (GC)
Portable (DS)
Console (Wii)
Portable (3DS)

So I think everyone is just expecting the pattern to continue :~) However, ACNL has been so successful on a portable system, I think it will remain with the 3DS/potential future cross-system NX. But nobody's really sure what will happen, as Nintendo isn't without its surprises!

I really don't want an ACWiiU since I'm not really into stationary consoles anymore. Allthough, I would buy a WiiU in a heartbeat if they released a new Animal Crossing for it, sadly.

I'm rooting for a WiiU game. I mostly play my 3DS at home anyway so it doesn't make a massive difference to me. I think the possibilities would be amazing and just thinking of the size your village could be....

though its probably definite, i really really wish it wasnt gonna be on the wii u. having city folk on the wii was terrible. i remember rarely being able to monitor my town bc i would only have the console at my dads, so whenever i went to my moms i could never play it :///

I FEEL EXACTLY THE SAME


I just want them to make handheld games. I'm sticking to ACNL, regardless to if AC wii u ever comes out.

Agreed! I only want Animal Crossing on handhelds. Even though I only play at home I still don't want to be stuck to a t.v. I play in bed, on the couch, on the porch etc lol. Hopefully the new "NX" is a handheld of some sort!!

I really don't like stationary consoles at all, so I will be very upset if the next Animal Crossing is for the Wii U.
