FINALLY have a day to myself, so I can catch up here. Work has been very busy lately!
I'm going to go through what happened throughout August in this blog post, and then cover the first 3 or 4 days of September in another post tomorrow. Here goes!
Eugene wanted to play hide and seek late one night, and I was happy to take him on. He rounded up Rosie and Walker to play with us, and I managed to find all of them with about six minutes remaining. As a reward, Eugene presented me with a minimalist lamp. Punchy was admiring the jungle gym, saying that if he had a big yard, he'd have one of his own. But Punchy, our playground is like five steps from your house! Are you seriously that lazy? I found a time capsule buried behind Savannah's house, and even though I didn't remember burying it, I assumed it was hers. Sure enough, it was, and she was happy to get her bunny shirt back. I was expecting she'd reward me with the shirt, but instead...

Isn't she the greatest?!
Over the next few days, Walker wanted a piece of fruit, so I got him an orange I'd previously shaken down. He thanked me with a lucky black cat. Mira had a package mistakenly delivered to her that was meant for Lolly, so I agreed to ferry the package. Lolly was very happy to receive the No. 5 shirt she'd ordered, and in return...

Two pics in one week!
A few days later, Al pinged me. However, he just wanted to sell his modern screen. I bought it just to get him off my tail. Why won't this lazy freeloader move already?!? Speaking of moving, both Lolly and Eugene have tried to move over the past week, which I promptly put a stop to. Eugene had a gift for Punchy, and I was happy to deliver it. It turned out to be a gift for me, and Punchy thought I'd enjoy a djimbe drum. He must remember all the guitars in my basement!
Some time later, I stumbled upon a conversation between Eugene and Rosie. They were discussing what Rosie needs to do to make herself more marketable as a pop singer.

I suggested a new wardrobe, and Rosie said she'd just bought a whole closet full of new clothes, and how unfair it was. I hope she saved the receipts!
On the 23rd was the last fireworks show of the year. I watched some of the fireworks for a few minutes, since it'll be a whole other year until I see them again.

A while later, Apollo had a moody painting he wanted to sell me, and since I already had one in the museum, I declined. Crazy Redd was also in town, but he didn't have anything either. Come on, give me an ancient statue, or something I need! I stumbled upon Eugene visiting Savannah in her house one day...and became a bit suspicious.

Okay, I'll give him that.
I found Walker's retro stereo up for sale in Re-Tail, and I bought it and mailed it back to him. His house just looks so...empty without it. Savannah wanted to come over, and I was happy to give her the grand tour. Astrid had a time capsule she wanted me to bury, and I happily buried it behind her house for later. Apollo had a new nickname for me: "Old dog". I was genuinely offended that he would think I was old! However, the "dog" part was pretty cool, so I told him to call me "S-Dog". I found Eugene a few days later, and he had this to say.

Aww, maybe things are coming along with Astrid after all!
Lastly, I did a fair bit of beetle hunting, and my balance topped 50 Million Bells! Halfway to the gold Bell Saver badge!
And that, in a nutshell, was what happened all throughout the remainder of August. I'll be back tomorrow with the first part of September, hopefully catching up.
