How do you get permission to upload animated signatures?

usually what i do is i get a gif, modify it to fit the size standard

upload it to my google+ account, right click and open the image in a new tab, copy the url

then when im making the sig, i insert image then paste the url

It came up with 'invalid file' again

Yeah make sure it ends in just .gif or whatever and not some weird .jpeg.gif stuff then it won't works.

Also try imgur, photobucket or something if google doesn't work.
 
Make sure your gif does not exceed the site's maximum signature size (found below)

Then find the gif you want to use, upload it on Imgur (that's what I do at least; it's quick and straight to the point), and then copy the provided "Direct Link" on the right. You can then go to Settings>Edit Signature> then be sure to add the gif's link in between the ;[/ img] codes in the provided space and you should be able to have an animated signature!

Of course, you can disregard going to any image uploading site if the gif you want to use is already up to a good size since you can just right click the image and then click on the option "Copy URL"/"Copy Image Address" and then follow the "Edit Signature" steps I mentioned above.

Like Moko mentioned, the animated image you want to use must be an actual gif with the words ".gif" at the end of the title.
