Another Animal Crossing “Leak”

Saw someone post this on twitter and I thought you guys might be interested: it?s a supposed leaked transcript of the next Nintendo direct. Now I?m going to go ahead and assume this is fake, because it just seems awkward. It also uses the ?leaked? Back to Basics title.

So yeah. Highly suspect, but here it is if you?re interested

Really hoping there's more to this than what's described, because it's honestly sounding dull.

this doesn't sound like a real direct at all, honestly. like i said in the other leak thread, removing the new leaf customization would be a death sentence for the sales

Gone back to Pokemon and loving it, so I won't be purchasing AC for Switch after all.

I loved the game but with work, it just became a chore and when it becomes something you dread; it's time to move on.

If it is real (which I personally think is unlikely; but for the sake of the question, it mentions more information arriving in the fall... Thoughts on that? I was hoping we'd get the game released closer to summer but then again I suppose that's unlikely as it's already January and we're working with virtually no information here.

if it is real, it actually looks p fine and like a legit "taking things and improving on them" as opposed to the "removing stuff to go simpler" route like some people seemed to be thinking

also the quiet life blurb makes me very tempted to name my switch town Morioh lol

Err, pardon me, but wasn't Tortimer in pension in New Leaf and that's why he got his own
island? Didn't even Isabelle said that he is too old for the mayor job now? So why the heck
should he becoming the mayor again? If someone besides the player should get the mayor
job then definitely Isabelle! I mean, nothing against Tortimer, he's a funny old fellow, but
if he would come back as the mayor then everything they said and done in New Leaf
wouldn't make any sense anymore. Or do I see this wrong here? :/

Besides this, I'm not sure what i should think about this leak. Interesting is the fact that
they are right with the Yoshi game coming out at spring, as Nintendo dropped the release
date of it on Twitter and it's March 29th, which would be spring. Then again, wouldn't
they say the actual release date in the Direct and not just spring? Or am I wrong here
again?

Also, Luigi?s Mansion: Hotel of Horrors sounds kinda cool?

Ugh, not sure what I should think about this. I will be skeptical about this leak for now...

It would make zero sense for the Animal Crossing titles to go "back to the basics" (Not to mention I think that's an awful title lol). Why would they get rid of features? Surely that means less people will be buying the game? I personally believe that if they do bring the mayor feature back, it will be very limited, since in the past no two games have shared the same "niche". I also feel like it's a lot of odd information that they wouldn't bother announcing, not falling for this one haha

Yeah, this is fake, the nes January titles in this script are NOT the nes January titles we know are coming. This is just an elaboration on another fake leak with the same titles. I would bet money on this being fake, as the dialogue sounds stilted and not like the normal directs, the writer obviously is also giving themselves outs with "oh they talk about indies, they talk about 3ds games, I'll spare you" but that's not how a transcript leak would work, a transcript leak would be the whole transcript just copy pasted, there would be no point in saving anyones time, because this is the internet and people who have an interest in leaks comb over them, they don't 'save their time'.
