Ants from Halloween Candy

So tday I bought a piece of candy from TIY. I was planning to just buy a bunch of candy and then store them by dropping them all by the town tree. So I put the piece of candy down, and walked away. But when I came back there were a bunch of ants all around it, just like rotten fruit. So I had to just drop it in my house, because my wardrobe was already full. But does all candy do this or was my piece a bad one? And if the candy creates ants, does this mean it won't be good, or is it fine to just leave it outside anyway?

I find it so disgusting when you pick up a rotten fruit or candy covered in ants and he just stuffs it in his pocket without clearing the ants off!

Haha, didn't know they'd spawn ants so thanks for telling me. Also, you could also store them in the second floor on the museum. Sure there's plenty of room there!
