Any bad trading experiences?

I've just had my first bad encounter on Nookazon after 3 years and honestly it's annoyed me a lot that I feel discouraged in wanting to trade again. I know it isn't something to get upset over but just thought I'd make this thread to kinda vent but also for anybody else to share their own experiences. It can be any experience really, not just on Nookazon.

So for me I made a free listing for a DIY recipe, but I accidentally created the listing as an actual item. I did the trade, gave a gift like always and left. They messaged me saying they didn't get their item and when I realized I quickly apologized and offered to craft the item 5 times for the trouble. They also asked I take the gift back because they didn't want it, which was fair but they were standoffish in their messages. I felt very bad and I could understand why they were annoyed but their tone was incredibly rude.

I went back to their island and dropped off the items, they'd just finished up another trade but messaged me AFTER I dropped the items to wait by the airport because they were in the middle of a trade. They then blocked me, didn't return the DIY or the gift and left me a bad review. Honestly I felt very petty and ended up taking the extra 4 I crafted back with me because they were rude and very unpleasant to deal with. They got their item, my DIY and a gift.

I get that it was my fault at first for listing the item wrong but I don't understand why they had to be so rude after I apologized and tried to compensate them for their time. The community has always been so friendly, understanding and this was the first time I've ever made a mistake. Honestly just don't want to experience something like it again.

Unfortunately, this happens quite a bit on Nookazon. The only thing you can do is hope it doesn’t happen to you. I’m sorry that happened. It’s a shame things like this even happen.

Yes and its a long painful story. I said this a long time ago but I'll say again. The thing is I used to trade on a site called Nookazon The thing is trading with people has left a bad taste in my mouth as well so thats why I have trust issues whenever trading with someone. I have to my guard in case I have reason to believe I'm going to scammed. I know some people may think that is rude, but they have to understand its hard to trade with people who become unreliable and they just love to cause trouble.

The thing with the website I used is that they tend to have a pricing issue and a lot of the times people have to set their own rules for how they have to trade, which can create a huge divide when some people are used to trading from one person but the other person may have different rules of how they want to do the trade.

I spoke to moderators about this issue and they told me that while they see there is a balance issue there is not much they can do about it. They have to give the freedom to let sellers how they want to list their item for trade and they have the right to list what they want in return. Personally I think the whole "accpeting bells, nmts, and wishlist items" is a bad way of trading because its like you have to make high offers because the seller seems to think that what the buyer is offering is too low and they won't accept. It makes trading in general harder than it usually is.

I only seen a few people list a selling price for the item they want to trade away and want in return and I think that is a great way about going about it. Problem is people on that site tend to be too greedy and it creates this unbalance issue that causes you to become skeptical if the person you are trading with is legit or not. I turned myself off my trading at the end of 2021 I just couldn't handle all these scammers and these people who keep causing trouble and making trading a lot more harder than it needs to be.

I've used Nookazon before (and still do, but not nearly as much), and I've only had a few bad experiences. One time I invited multiple users to my island 'cause I had a lot of trades to do, but one of them took all the items I left on the ground for the other traders. A dumb move on my part, but I felt really bad about it.

The next two experiences aren't that bad, but still left a foul taste in my mouth. I bought 10 mystery bags for 10k bells and it all contained a single tree branch in each bag. I guess it's technically part of the whole spiel, but it felt like some sort of joke. Another time a trader got mad at me 'cause I said the offer was too low, but I just did the math wrong. They proceeded to ask me "Are you a 12-year-old or something?" and I felt kinda offended by it.

Nookazon isn't quite the best AC trading site, IMO - The items are extremely over-priced (especially the high-value ones), the site is ad-ridden, and there are bots linking Discord servers or something to their bio and allegedly giving out free items to lure in users. I dunno, I just feel like the site's gotten worse since I first joined in 2021.

I've only used Nookazon once or twice, and haven't had any problems, but I wouldn't assume Nookazon is always safe. I try to keep trades done on the Nook's Cranny section of this site since the people here are a lot more trustworthy.

I will never try Nookazon due to the risk. I can find anything and everything I want here and people here are super nice so I only trade here. Due to that, I've never had a bad trading experience.

I've never had a bad experience trading. Mostly because with NH I've only traded here where all of my experiences have been great. There were all kinds of scams and bad trading experiences when Nookazon was made and when NH came out mostly because the game had become so mainstream from everyone jumping on with the pandemic. That's just what happens when something becomes less niche.

I think that I've only had 1 bad experience in Nookazon, and that was in the very beginning when Nookazon was made, but I've never had another one after that one. I always seem to get honest and kind people and really don't think they're that common. Looking at the reviews always helps. If they only have 1 or 2 reviews they tend to be more of a risk for being scammers, but most people that have a lot of reviews definitely don't scam from my experience.

I have never had a bad experience on here But before I joined I was on Nookazon and the people on there can be rude as.....

I had multiple people turn up to me island without the item I was going to buy then they would accuse me of stealing the item. But they never brought it over in the first place and then would ask me for the bells and just say the item must be lost.

Or they would try to steal my items or just walk over and start shaking all my trees, I had a person spread my dodo code to all their friends and they ended up raiding my island trying to steal my stuff swearing at me and other horrible things that I will not mention.

I haven’t ran into any issues, though I only do trades here, as everyone I’ve traded with has been really kind and honest.

Always be cautious as possible with trades.

I used to use Nookazon a lot, especially when it first came out but recently I've pretty much only had bad luck with it sadly. People aren't as kind and friendly as they used to be

Its always been like this for a long while. From my experience it was such a nightmare.

I used Nookazon only a handful of times; I didn't have any bad experiences but I remember getting weird vibes from one guy. Nothing happened though.

I almost had a bad experience on here, but it was my fault because I was selling something and completely missed an interested trader's reply! They were understandably upset but luckily they let me fix the problem
