Hope you're having a good day~

I am currently trying to write a story mainly about kitsunes.
I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or sites I could look up about kitsunes, or books are amazing too; I have done some research but some info may have gone unnoticed and was wondering if anyone on here knew. It's a fanfiction, but I want to be as factual as I can be.

Any help is amazing! Thank you for ready~

(sorry if this was the wrong place to ask)

I mean kitsune are already mythological to begin with, so "factual" is a rather loose term here

assuming you're talking in the mythological sense, and not the literal japanese word for fox sense

I don't have anywhere to point you for research material, but I did want to say that I think your idea is cool. I have read/watched several fictional tales about kitsune and have enjoyed them. In fact, I'm currently reading Shadow of the Fox, which is a young adult novel where the main character is a young female kitsune.

So good luck with your project!

Yeah I meant a more mythological sense, thank you XD

Thank you so much~! I do find mythological tales like this really interesting. I have actually researched that despite being male kitsunes, they will transform into females instead so they can trick humans easier or to be wives.
The novel sounds really interesting! Thank you~

What reminds me of the combination of words Kitsune + mythological is :

Kitsune mask used to be believed that it gives you kind of super natural affect.
And this reminds me of a certain novel that involves murder. I don't know if it's published overseas too but it's a story about one woman who tries to survive/live by changing her face - personality. My very favorite novel also. The title is

火車」( Kasya )
author : Miyuki Miyabe

( Sorry if this is irrelevant. )

No, no it's wonderful thank you~! It's really interesting!
I'll have a look and hopefully the book is published here. Thank you :)
Do you happen to know how to read Japanese since I think the book is only in Japanese, haven't looked too much.

I used to maintain a blog with many fairy tales, let me share a few links that might interest you.

- Kitsunes
- More on Kitsunes
- Types of kitsunes
- Gumiho, the Korean nine-tailed fox
- Tamamo-no-Mae, the most famous kitsune
- More Tamamo-no-Mae
- The Kuzunoha

The book/graphic novel Sandman: The Dream Hunters by Neil Gaiman features the love tale between a young monk and a kitsune, I love it. It was originally illustrated by Yosh?ʈaka Amano, the artist who makes the Final Fantasy series' logos and used to illustrate the older games. The newer versions are in a more graphic novel format, illustrated by P. Craig Russell.

Wow. Informative. However, didn't know the forum replace it to asterisks even when it's a part of someone's name augh. You meant y
oshitaka, I assume.

Oh, that's a bummer, if it's only in Japanese. :( I don't know how to ready Japanese if it's unfamiliar language to you. Once I tried to read a novel in Korean language and it was a pain in butt. (=_=;;

I'm both baffled and giggling at the unexpected censorship. Yes, you are absolutely right.
Well, I hope the mods won't get angry at me for editing the post to go around it because it isn't really a cussing but the artist's name.
