Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.
Once you unlock island, you'll have access to the best money making area in the game. Beetles on palm trees and sharks are what you want. Remember how much they sell for and learn to identify the different types.
The BEST way to earn bells is the stalk market. Buying turnips, then hoping to sell them for more. But it's risky for newer ppl to do. Using this forum, you'd be able to find outrageous prices to sell for in other ppl's towns. Making you super rich.
1. Beetle-hunting in the evening. It's sometimes hard to find beetles spawning. To combat that, plant more trees on the beach area and remove the ones in the middle (including flowers). For now, catch all you can... but learn which beetles are more valuable and how they look like. For example: Golden Stags often look like a darker version of Miyama Stag, but they're also the most expensive (12k Bells PER catch); Goliath Beetle may be bright red and shiny, but their value isn't as high as others (5k Bells).
2. Stalk Market. Slowly increase your investment in this area from Beetle Farming. If you want to buy and sell more efficiently, you could create a second character that buys and sells the turnips so that you don't have to worry about storage issues. You don't even need to upgrade his/her house, just give her a wardrobe or something. The only drawback is having a tent in your town lol. 3 storage full of Turnips selling for a good price could net you ~10m.
3. Fill your catalog. << Requires some time, but worth it in the end. Basically buy every single new furniture you see in Nook because every furniture you hold/acquire would instantly get recorded in a catalog which you won't see until after you finish one shop upgrade. Buying furnitures would not only help you to upgrade your store, but there are people in boards that are willing to pay 100k for a 3~5k item out of desperation. In fact, I have traded with someone who offered Zodiac Set in exchange for Cactus and Bonsai set. There are all kinds of people out there, and those are really easy money. Make use of it.
The first couple weeks are hard: shake every tree, hit the rocks, sell your shells, fossils, and fruit then once you have island access, its easy to make a half mil each night.
Make sure you try play online or when you unlock the island, get the fruits from there as it differs from your native fruit, getting a perfect fruit is even better as it's worth 3,000 bells in someone elses town, with the right amount of planting, you can get up to like 1m easily every few days, and build up a small stack to invest in the turnip market, very easily you can earn back 5x as much given how some people get some ridiculous prices for turnips on here like 500+ bells.
Perfect fruit trees. You'll recognize them because they're different from the rest (perfect oranges are weird). They're about 600 bells each one, so you can plant a perfect fruit if you want.
Every day there's a rock that will spam money if you hit it with a shovel. There's another one that will 'break' and drop a piece of ore that sell for 2.400 bells.
Then there's the fossil thing. Dig up a fossil, take it to the museum, and tell Blathers that you have one. When he analyzes it, DON'T donate it. Some of them sell for more than 3K bells.
