restarting the island is always so time consuming, especially with how many things nook needs you to do before youre on your own...anyone have any tips on how to make this process go faster?

I held B to get through the talking and quickly added my info. then i skipped the video (press +), then i just held b and ran around till i had everything

Unfortunately a lot of it is locked to real time so if you're not time travelling it can only go so fast. You can maximise what you do in a day, though!

Day 1
- Earn 5,000 Nook Miles to unlock your house (and therefore storage) next day.
- Give Nook 5 fish/insects to unlock Blathers tent the next day.
- Get as many iron, hardwood, softwood and wood as you can - you'll need them on day 2 to unlock Nook's Cranny.
- Get your DIY recipe for slingshot - might as well do it now.
- Keep getting as many unique fish/insects as you can - you'll need them on day 2 to unlock the actual Museum.

Day 2
- Donate any new fish/insects to Blathers - you'll need 15 total ofc so if you're still lacking from the previous day, finish it today.
- Gather up some more resources to pay off Nook's Cranny build which Timmy should tell you about today if you managed to pay your first house off on Day 1 - make sure you place the plot for it.
- Try get to a mystery island and get a villager moving in - it's good to get new islanders moving in ASAP as it plays a big part in getting the 3 star rating and getting K.K. to visit later on.

Day 3
- Museum will be closed if you got all 15 things on Day 2 to Blathers.
- Visit Nook's Cranny which should open today if you paid and that will introduce you to Mabel and you'll be able to start working towards getting Abel Sisters open. When she starts visiting, buy stuff - I believe there's a minimum spend to get her to offer opening shop.

Decorate your town each day, like don't be afraid to just make use of anything you can buy or craft as soon as you can - you can always change it later and, again, it helps get that 3 star rating as quickly as possible later on. Especially buy like one or two outdoor structures from the ABD in resident services as often as you can - they contribute a decent bit to it...

...and so on. Like I said, you're kind of limited to how fast you can do it because of time locked features like the opening of Nook's Cranny and the Museum, but there's a lot you can do to speed up the first few days.

Once Nook gives you the ability to plot land, I really recommend you do as many plots as you can if you're looking to get that 3 star rating fast. The main thing Isabelle will tell you is that the island needs more residents - then it'll be about island decoration which you can do up to the point Nook allows you to place plots.

Sorry for the kind of hectic post, the bottom line is - do as much as you can each day - some stuff is time-locked so can only be as quick as the game allows it to be. E.g. you won't get resident services until about a week into the game, you won't get Abel Sisters until around the third visit from Abel assuming you've been spending your bells when she visits.

Time travel and do everything in chunks. If you know you need x resources start getting them before its prompted

Besides TTing to accelerate to process, there isn't a whole lot you can do besides donating as many fish, bugs, and fossils as possible to get the museum up quickly, saving your resources for buildings, the bridge, and crafting for the 3 plots, and doing as many NM goals as quickly as possible to knock out the first loan as fast as possible.

1. Timmy sells it pretty early on - I believe you can actually buy it on day one, but don't quote me on that; may be day two onwards.

2. For the first five, just catch two different insects, a fish from a pond (if you have one on that first bit of island), a fish from the river and one from the ocean - if you don't have a pond, the ocean shouldn't be too bad getting two different fish from. For Blathers, if you check in on the island morning, afternoon and evening it should be easier than it seems, you'll get a lot of different fish, and there's a fair number of different bugs in may - it's just about variation, if you try do it all in one hour in the afternoon it'll be harder, there's some creatures more likely to be out during evening, etc.

3. Here's a quick list for you - not exhaustive by any means, but there's a lot here! The Nook Mile achievements are pretty rewarding initially...
- You get some for arriving anyway, when you first look at them.
- Post something on the bulletin board.
- Take a photo with the Nook camera app.
- Edit your title on your passport in the passport app.
- Create a design (can literally just be a white box tbh and you'll get the achievement).
- Talk to both your islanders.
- Craft some fishing rods, nets - you need to craft 5 tools to unlock the first achievement for "DIY Tools!" Nook also gives you recipe for axes and watering cans on day one after donating the five fish/insects to him.
- Gather some wood from trees, you need 20 to unlock the first achievement for "Rough-hewn"
- Use a tool until it breaks.
- Sell weeds - selling 50 unlocks the first achievement for "Greedy Weeder", 200 unlocks the second.
- Plant 10 flowers - Nook gives you 5 for free, then you can buy another 5.
- Water those 10 flowers for some extra Nook Miles (be aware if it's raining though and the flowers are already watered you won't get this).
- Sell 20 fruit.
- Sell 10 seashells (they spawn over time so you can keep checking back).
- Catch 10 fish. If you do this without any "escaping," you'll also unlock another achievement for successfully catching 10 in a row,
- Catch 10 insects.
- Place 5 items in your house - your start off with 3 (radio, lamp and cot) so you can buy another two from Timmy.
- Keep using your Nook phone! You unlock some for using it a number of times (I don't know the exact number but I always get this on day one so much be about 10 or 20 times).
- Spend 5,000 bells with Timmy (two furniture items and flowers should do this usually!)

There's certainly more you can do on day one, but they're a good start; just check the Nook Miles app frequently to see if there's any you can do!
