So I started learning the violin late last year and I love it. It's so rewarding! Does anybody here also play the violin?

And for those who don't, do you play another instrument? If not, what instrument do you wish you could play?

I don’t play the violin, but in regards to your last questions I had a snare drum when I was younger and would practice on it at times. But I eventually lost interest in it and stopped playing it, and later on I think we sold it. I wish I could learn to play the drums though. Something about the kinds of beats they can create really make me want to rock out. :)

meeeee! i really do love playing the violin. i recently just joined my school's violin program!

I used to play the flute and was in marching/concert/jazz-band and orchestra all throughout HS. was fun

I do play violin and it is fun. I restrung mine to play lefty even if it confuses my teacher. lol I also found one in purple, though it was backordered for several months. I got it eventually and it looks so cool. I don't know if it matters that the insides aren't flipped like left handed violins are, but those didn't have any fun colors and I think mine sounds fine anyway.

I also take guitar lessons, though I am not very good at that. Violin is easier. There are less strings. :p

I learned how to play the violin when I was 8 years old and took classes until I was 14 years old. Then I had to move to another city and had to quit my classes. I never tried to find another teacher after that, so I just played for fun.... which is like once every month then now once every 3-4 months xD I played clarinet for band from ages 14-16 and also tried to self teach myself guitar but I'm not very good at it and can only play easy songs like jungle bells.

I really wanted to play the violin when I was entering sixth grade, and it didn't pan out at all. I don't think I could ever become good at any instrument.

Noo, you can't think like that! If it's something that interests you, you should try it. And if you put in the proper effort, you'll find that you can get really good at it! The only way you won't make progress is if you don't practice

Do you think you'd ever start taking violin classes again? :)

That's really cool! :D How long have you been playing and what kind of music do you like to play?

i do know a few violinsts like friends and stuff. Too many people want to play the violin so i couldnt go in. So I played the Trombone and then I gave up due to some idiot, who kept on annoying me saying i was a bad player or something

Awe, I'm sorry that someone discouraged you that way.. I hope you start playing again!

I would if I had some extra money and more time! I think it’s so helpful to have a teacher to help you with learning new songs and letting you know if you’re playing it wrong. I think I can play a lot of easy-medium difficulty songs by myself (I was preparing for level 8 RCM test, so my level skill was around there.... it has sharply dropped by now LOL) but I’m clueless for some more difficult ones and need help correcting it.

Violin is my favorite instrument! I love the sound of it. However, I don?t play it. I can sort of play guitar and ukulele, but not very well. I am in a perpetual state of learning to play lol.

I play the violin/fiddle!! I started learning when i was like 8 and throughout school I was in an orchestra (ya girl ended up being the lead of the orchestra) and a traditional group. once I left school I helped out a ceilidh band when their fiddler was away and that was such a great experience (not to mention easy money). since the band disbanded i haven?t really played much, trying to find another band to join isn?t easy but i?m hoping i find one

I used to play from grade 4 up to grade 7. I did well for my age but I stopped because I started getting more and more nervous about performing for concerts and such, my social anxiety was terrible during this time also bc of puberty lol, and it affected my skill also.

I do miss playing it a lot, hopefully I might pick it up again one day.
