Any way to keep villagers but start new town map?

So yeah as the title says..im fairly new to the series and I am just unsure whether it is possible to keep all of your villagers and start fresh? I just woke up and realized how much i hate my town map...but i have also been working hard to get almost all my dreamies and do not want to lose them..

It's half-possible to do that. You can't really start a new map and then bring in your full set of villagers. You need to ask someone to hold them for you, and then you can invite them into your new town. They won't remember you, though, since you'll have a new character too.

I see, well thanks for sharing! I need to find someone who can hold my villagers then..which i think will be hard? I have about 6-7 i wanna keep.

It might be or it might not. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful about that, but I've never restarted my town so I've never had to ask for so many villagers to be held all at once. You might have to ask more than one person and it might take some time, but people who have cycle towns might be able to help you. I've seen some people around the forum talk about how they restarted and thank people for holding their villagers, so it's possible.

It's technically possible, but that means you need to have several people who you trust with your villagers, and who are willing to move them out at an opportune time for you, which may take over a month.
